were it me, I would stick to the devil you know. Working for a corporation is unstable and susceptible to layoffs/downsizing as well as a lot of other bad noise. I would stick it out and use your raises from interpreting to buy a solid healthcare package of your own choosing. You can buy healthcare, but you can't buy a work environment that isn't so full of red tape that you can't move. Besides, people will always need interpreters.

I'm thinking I might tell them that unless I get better shift I can't take it. If I could get a more 9-5 type schedule or even evening/overnight. I'm just SO not a morning person. I'm going to talk to my boss at the interpreter agency about getting insurance.

Chocodiles have been out of circulation for decades now. No wonder they're in trouble. Yeah, if you haven't had a twinkie you should try one quick. Or buy one quick anyway. You can eat it at your leisure as they have a legendary shelf-life.

as to the other, when Hostess bought out Dolly Madison a couple years ago, they laid off half to 2/3 of the staff at the plant in Emporia, Ks where my brother-in-law worked.
Now that plant is part of the 100% lay-off they announced this morning and no word on if it will be one of the plants reopened after things settle down.
 
Damn... I'm gonna miss twinkies... Maybe if we go get some pitch forks, torches, and shotguns, we can force them to make more for us. :D
 
My first thought when my wife told me that they are shutting down the twinkie factory was I need to get to the store and get some so I don't end up like Woody Harrelson in Zombieland! Life will never be the same :(
 
Apparently the Browning Buckmark I thought I had at my Dad's has actually been a Challenger this whole time. Oh well, I think this is a good thing.

I got kicked out of the sporting goods section of dicks (sporting goods) today. WTF now I have to be 18 go there. All I wanted was a few shoot n' see targets.

Looks like the same action from the outside, but with a tapered barrel.
So many variations on that action over the years, including the Brownings, hi-standards, colts, etc.
