Ok, that was a learning experience.

Took my new Mossberg 500 Cruiser to the range across the street, I've been trying out a bunch of different loads to see what it liked. I had some Winchester Super-X 3" Magnum 00 Buck (15 Pellet) from my other shotgun (Also a 500, but with a full size wood stock and 28" barrel). 5 rounds and I had to put it down. Back of my hand swelled up like an egg. 4 hours and 3 Aleve later and it still hurts. Felt like about 2x the recoil of my 3" rifled slugs. Going to put them away until the next time I need to drive off a bear or something, and go back to the 2.75" 9 pellet 00.

Aside from that, had a blast with the new toy :)

3 inch magnum turkey loads are seriously punchy, even with a good recoil absorbing stock. that's why stopped after 10 :)

I always use the local guys. I have a hard time with chains, especially when they act like firearms are poison and so are the customers that want them
 
Took my babymama to the range today and took my XD9 and my 1911 and a few hundred rounds of each. I only got about 20 rounds of each down range. It was the first time she had fired a real gun she did pretty well for her first time.

Had a hard time getting useful this evening. Finally pulled a hatchet sheath outta my lazy bum. It's drying in the warm room. The flash makes everything look horrible. I hope it looks less bad in the morning...

So, got some bad news on Friday. Supposed to be on bed rest for the next 4-6 weeks doctors diagnosed me with MRSA and Mono. One of the downfalls of specializing in the medical field as an interpreter. I'm the guy that never gets checked till it's too late. Already been on steroids and antibiotics for a week. Going next week for "Infectious Control" to see what can be done.

Also met with Walgreens this morning. Told them I'd need more than they offered me to do the work. We'll see if I get it. It would be nice but if I don't I'm not too worried. I'm going to be putting my resume out there some more... When I get better.
 
This is what I learned tonight...........no matter how bad you stink up a bathroom, Murph will still be beatin on the door waitin to use it!......................Sick bastard!..........:foot:
 
Mmmm new laptop goodness today. Power jack broke on the other one.

Experienced? No. Able to read the Wikipedia entry on it? Heck yes. ;)

(Might check with Daiz and Bladite, they out rank me in computer nerdiness.)
 
Trying to pick a good fixed blade for under 200 bucks. dont want esee. maybe a swamp rat rmd or rodent 6... RMD seems better for edc but the rodent 6 looks like a monster... i just dont like the thumb guard.... What other brands do beckerheads go after?

Alot of times a man uses the excuse that the court will give the kids to the mom just to walk away. while this is normally the case its not written in stone. My father TOOK custody of me and my brother back in the 80s. Regardless what they say most men want custody to go to the mother because they feel the mother will do a better job raising the child or they are looking for the back door out. this is bull$hit. A father cant breast feed but we can damn sure raise our own children. I know, since i was injured overseas i am a stay at home father who spends almost all my time with my children. cooking for, cleaning after, and teaching these little devils is the most important job i could have.

Congrats agin, remember the reasons you fought for your kids and keep them first. i dont know the situation with the mother but ill say that i have never seen a situation where telling the kids negative stories about the other parent was a good idea, in other words dont bad mouth there mother to her kids behind her back regardless of the reasoning. explain to them when the time is right if needed why you had to take them but dont blame mom in a negative way. even if the fault is there. You need your kids to know you took them out of love not anger or hate.

Either way enjoy your life with your precious angels, and thanks for standing up for fathers around the world.

Looks good daiz. Have never tried to do any leather work myself. Thought about it, and that's as about as far as I'd gotten.

what blade length, what blade thickness, what size hands do you have, what uses do you have planned for it?
