but putting my foot down when she looks me in the eyes is a hell of a challenge.

You learned to be a softie to a baby. She's not a baby anymore.
She has learned that this is your weakness. surprise her.
Remember: children have no ethical compass until you give them one, and they learn by example.

Dubz, I like your original photo best. The second one looks like there's Predator blood in every shadow.

"Do as I say, young lady, or I'll eat you like I did your elder sister."
"I don't have and elder sister!"
"Not anymore, you don't!"

I keed, I keed. I have 4 girls and I feel your pain. Very hard for the opposite sex parent sometimes.

Haha, I hear ya. You can get some really amazing effects by this technique though.

sounds like a great line.
When a highschool friend of mine turned 18 they gave him a card that said "Congratulations, we've decided to keep you!"

Well...There is now a ban on folders here...It has been illegal to import them privatly for awhile but now once a local vendor's current stock is gone nothing new can be imported and because of that prices have gone up...way up...Sooooo, pay $80 for a RAT-1 or just never get the chance to own one? What do you think?

what exactly is wrong over there?

Well I guess it's the fact that the Australian customs and government are too stupid to know that assisted/one hand opening knives ARE NOT flick knives. Guns were banned around 1996/97 (I think?) so now their attention has turned to knives...I guess their logic is that "tactical" knives have no place here, traditional two hand opening folders and SAKs are legal to import at the moment along with fixed blades and I also believe machetes and swords...For now...

sounds like a good time to start learning the basics behind the different types of locking mechanism -- it would not be difficult to convert a Svord Peasant Knife to a liner lock, for example - unless they have also outlawed manufacture and/or ownership as well as importation, that is.

Where do you guys go to get your handles? I just picked up a Kelly double-bit head that I'll need to rehandle.

I bought a bunch of them at the Nashville flea market. I've seen some really nice ones at ace hardware though.

It was a colony founded as a prison... Nuff said!
Sorry Cam... Get you a SAK now, and get REAL comfy with it!

Haha no offence taken...You're right though, Oz was originally Englands trash can for criminals.

That sucks cam. Move to America, problem solved.

Whilst someone always says this when I tell people about the situation we have here its not that simple. Maybe if I'm there for a holiday I might be able to sneak a couple blades back home with me...

Most the time id agree with moving to america, but he is in australia.... And id give anything to do some fishing there!

Definetly come over here if you get the chance...Although I did read somewhere that Australians are ranked as the biggest assholes by tourists hahaha.

that sets the bar pretty high -- my sister dated a Kiwi for a while, and he was a treat... (she seemed to like him at the time, so I let him live...)
I've also met some folks from Oz who were traveling the USA and they were pretty nice folks.

Thats not to say we're all assholes...The article was just a bunch of bad stories from tourists thats all, not everyone in every country you go to is gonna be nice. For instance the customs guys we met in Los Angeles was pretty rude to us.
