I sure was, but it's kind of scary at my age. If I were young, I would have told them to eff off long ago...

Could be a blessing. And thanks.

I hear ya...and hope it works out well. I'm facing "re-integration" with the company that I left after almost 20 years ('cause they treated me poorly; long story...), and the company I work for now (which acquired another company I had gone to) bought my old company - and now I'll be wearing the same damn clothes I was wearing a couple years ago, minus all the perks of being a 20 year employee. I would LOVE to find something different to do, but I'm in your same boat (at 54), Dubz - except I have young kids....and can NOT afford to go without health insurance. At least the new/old company has a more affordable plan (that I'm on already) because they are 10 times the size of my current employer (which is owned by a HUGE capital management consortium). No one our age should have their future so on the precipice of financial disaster after so many years of hard work and dedication. I hate the friggin' crab bucket.

I hear that, Everything these days is dog eat dog, nobody cares about anything, or anyone anymore. Corporate sucks. They want kiss ass robots, and I'm just not that person. Everything is going corporate. The small place isn't going to exist in the very near future. They keep passing ridiculous laws that the mom and pop shop can't afford. They're even talking about taking minimum wage up to $15. Sounds good on the surface, but smaller places can't afford to pay everyone that. So, either they close their doors, or corporate takes over, like what happened to us. We all used to like each other. It's amazing how fast the people you knew and got along with great, turns on you on a corporate second. Some people I work with sucked ass like you wouldn't believe. Telling on people for the dumbest shit, just to climb the corporate ladder. We have one person there, that was one of my best "friends" at work. She kissed ass all the way to the top. She was the worse worker you've ever seen, but that didn't matter. She kisses butt, and that's what matters to them.

I don't want to go back to work lol. I've been off for three months so far because of my injury. The third party case management company that looks after disability claims is trying to push me back to work. I wish they would just leave me alone until I feel I'm ready to go back. My shoulder is now tight and I can't lift my arm above shoulder level. Still a huge improvement from where I was, but not fully healed.

I too wonder where the hoss man is!

Been missing that Worldwood cat around here too.

WW goes missing from time to time, but Hoss hasn't went mia for this long before. Hopefully both are doing well and are just busy.

mmmmmmm......
lunch today is pan fried pork chops smothered in green salsa - I'll let you guess who the cook is.

I was in a place today that does vapor deposition (like powder coating - if powder coating were a Toyota, vapor deposition would be, say, a Lamborghini) on Sig Sauer parts (made right in the same business park) and.....Emerson knives as well as some others. Totally cool, I asked for a little tour and got one when I was done working. Neat stuff. PVD & DLC coatings....

SO what your saying is Vapor deposition is really expensive, breaks down alot, and is very expensive to maintain and repair ?

...but it looks cool, and accelerates to the speed limit really quickly when working?
And makes a lot of noise?

Roger that - I will choose my analogies with greater care and precision the next time. Tho....that one did generate some actual snark, so....it was successful in some respects ;).
Also, re: Lamborghinis - expensive, hell yeah. Don't know if they break down frequently, or are expensive to maintain....but if I had the money to own one, I'm sure I would ALSO have the money to give no ?^ck$ about anything else except for my fabulous good fortune to be driving my Lamborghini....

More to the point, allay'all missed the most major one: GUNS.AND.KNIVES. Read it again: I was in a place with racks of gorgeously coated, high quality gun parts AND knife parts.

Beyond the snark, I'd totally drive a Lamborghini if I had the chance.

And re: the guns and knives, you know the rules... POIDH

....and I would have loved to, I really would have, but....I kinda sussed that whipping out my phone for a couple selfies would have been - not a good idea. Notice I ain't naming names, either. Y'all can googley ":^)> - location on the West Coast that's near to all the knife manufacturers there, and one the East Coast that's next door to the Sig factory (the one manufacturinng the military's new service issue sidearm) - and they do "coatings". No need to report back with your findings.

Or....maybe you're right: it DIDN'T happen. I made up the whole story so I could come up with a poorly considered turn of phrase, and take all sortsa shnark from you guys, because secretly, I'm a social masochist. AaaNnd....now it's not a secret. At least that's my story. Yeah.... . . . ! . . . ....made it alll up.

First option exceeds my Google Fu, so I'm stuck with the second option. And now that I know you are a social masochist, I'll be sure to pursue treating you in an appropriate (inappropriate???) manner more aggressively.

Finally finished these up. I really like how they came out.

Now I can catch up on my knives that people have been waiting for.

About a half hour to 45 min of hard work. ;)

It's not really a true burnish. I don't really know what to call it.
