Got my teepee in today. Pole should be here tomorrow, and the stove by the 5-7th, so, by Friday. I wish I could have gotten it in nicer weather, as I need to set it up, and seam seal it. Also have to cut a hole in the jack. They don't say on the website how much seam sealer you need, so I ordered 2 tubes. Then, I opened up the tent box, and they include the seam sealer. Damn. They don't say on the advertisement that one comes with it, so you order more. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a spare or two.

Glad to hear the tent body arrived. Is it silnylon or PU-coated nylon? What seam sealer are you using?
From the site:

40D Ripstop Nylon (Silnylon) fabric 5000mm hydrostatic head - 260 Tensile strength with one side PU and one side silicone (optional snow skirts Sil Polyester)

The seam sealer just says Silicone Seam Sealer, haha. I don't see a brand name anywhere.

On a side note, I got my pole in, only to realize I ordered the wrong size. Sigh...

Shit! Sorry to hear that you got the wrong tent pole.

There are some YouTube vids that show you how to thin out the silicone so it's easier to apply.

I've seen a few of those, mixing the mineral spirits with the silicone. Looks much easier and neater to apply.

Just got me new stove in.
A few photos. Indoors photos suck, of course.

Stove assembled, stove pipe rolled up, spark arrestor, and carry bag:

Front/vent:

Has the updated damper. The former was solid:

Bag. You can see the pipe rings to the right:

Updated spark arrestor. The old one was more solid, with slots:

Show the size a bit:

Latches. Just took a few minutes to unfold/latch:

Can't wait to assemble the whole thing, and get the initial burn in done, to help form the stove pipe.

1066vik 1066vik Thanks man!

Got a set of Micarta scales that arrived an hour ago. Slapped 'em on with some Loctite and started cutting up some Axis deer harvested yesterday.

The swedge tended to help create a gap for thicker cuts, which allowed the cuts to separate nicely and had the tendency to reduce stiction.

These pics are for a part of one of the hinds. The next three quarters and straps are next.

This knife works even better standing up when cutting due to the sweeping belly. Push cuts are smooooooth.

This meat is going to be sent to Oahu for my nephew's graduation Luau. I hope to get some more to share.

Who would want to cut their BK5? I mean they are discontinued, hard to find, and why damage or destroy a good knife!

Currently my BK5 is in the kitchen with OKC Woodsman, they shared meat cutting duties, OKC Woodsman for chunking and the BK5 slicing to better cookables. I love inter-brand team work.

Man…
Been dealing with some pretty serious flooding in the last 2 days in my city and county. Snow melt and then very heavy rainfall. Had to leave work early today because I-5 closed down for 20 miles. Inconveniently right between work and home. Many roads closed. There was one possible route home so I took it and thank God I was able to make it home. Might not have been able to make it later. One of the rivers that has been causing flooding hasn’t even crested yet. It should within the next few hours. That would affect a lot of homes. I’m only 3 blocks from the river. We’ve had 3 major floods the last 25 yrs and my house hasn’t seen water. Let’s hope that stays the case!
