That's the one I'm going to get. I've had it on my wish list for awhile now. I read a ton of reviews for it, seems like a good one.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing some pics of it in action!

The only gripe I have is with the BIGBOY I have, is the blade unfolds to easy. I ended up making a short kydex sheath to keep it closed while hauling it around. Hopefully the newer ones won’t do that .

Did you try tightening the pivot screw? It snugged up my saw. And I want to see that kydex sheath!

That sucks. I guess a ranger band would work okay. Looks like they sell a plastic sheath for $30 for it, but the ranger band would be cheaper.

Ranger band should do the trick.

Silky is the bomb!

Morning Beckerheads!

Yes, it is! Which saw are you using?

I personally love my Agawa Boreal Saws ... they pack small and light and cut pull and push like any bow saw. You can get three sizes now 15", 21"' and 24" .. you can get different blades depending on what type of wood you cut. And they fold out and go together with no fasteners ... just the handle tensioning as it's locked in place.

If you read the reviews comparing the 2, most say they cut about the same. The Boreal 21 cuts on the push and pull, while the Silky cuts on just the pull. The Boreal 21 is less likely to bend the blade, yet doesn't have the reach, and also is limited to the size log you cut. In the woods, most won't be cutting giant logs anywhos. Price is very similar. Boreal 21 has a slightly longer blade. The weight is similar. The silky is faster to deploy, but that's not really an issue anywhos. Silky is slightly shorter when folded. One thing I like about the Boreal 21 over the Silky, is you can get 21" blades at the hardware store for $10 or $12, where the Silky blade is proprietary, and nearly $30.

The only complaint I have about Silky saws, is that when using them I sometimes accidentally press the lock and the blade releases and the blade/handle pops into the fully deployed angle.

This is how I broke and bent my older one. Operator error, but after cutting for a while fatigue sets in and technique goes out the window.

That was something else I read/watched on the reviews, that the Boreal 21 was more comfortable because of the hand positioning.

In my personal opinion, which ain't worth much, is that Silky saws are fantastic for yard work, camping, and fire work when your just enjoying the outdoors or near civilization.

If I were to head off into the wilderness for an extended period, I'd probably look for a more rugged saw that has a way to pack multiple blades.

Well it's official I have covid employee health doctor called me this afternoon. After speaking with him for a while he says that if I don't have a fever and not using Tylenol for 24 hours plus continue to improve on the other symptoms I can have a rapid test done tomorrow if that is negative I can go back to work ,if not I can go back on the 18th either way I have had the flu a lot worse

Glad to hear it's not impacting you too badly. My wife had it a few weeks ago. Very mild symptoms – a runny nose and a bit tired for a few days.

A customer gave my manager the Chinese virus Friday. He'll be out at least a week.

I don't get flu shots anymore, I got sick every time I did before. So, forget about it!
Not like all the kids shots we all got way back when, ... that actually worked.
