spent the first day of my 3-day weekend working at a forge making viking chain.
what I needed was 1/4" bar stock to start - what i was handed was 3/8.
lots of drawing down before I could start making links - started with 9" long bars, ended up with 13.5" bars before twisting and curling the ends.viking chain2.jpg
little bit of truing up to do yet before heating and dunking in oil to blacken it.
ends are left open so they can be attached to a hub for the next part of the project.

So today is my birthday and my conniving wife really surprised me. Apparently she looked thru my Amazon cart(we have two separate accounts) and saw this was in my save for later cart. I've been watching YouTube videos with my airpods (not trying to drop hints which I wasn't) but for my own edification.
Well the Blue Birthday Truck showed up today and this was my Birthday Present.

Those are handy. I got a lot of buddies who have trucks with armor and sliders that use those when off-roading. Useful for pulling stuff too.

GREAT GIFT!

Happy Birthday! That's an excellent gift. Remember to ALWAYS keep your face away from the handle's path.

That looks 300% easier to assemble than a stainless Kifaru stove, and likely more air-tight too. I'm now in the initial stages of something very expensive...................
There's a few different brands with the foldable design. Pomoly looks to make a nice foldable as well, but I don't like/want windows in a stove. Guessing more weight, plus the chance to break the glass.

Thanks for the info, and I'm against glass for the same reasons.

I purchased from the zon. Winnerwell has new ones called the Fastfold PLUS, medium and large. I don't see prices yet, but I'm sure they're going to be astronomical. Heavier too. The large is over 7lbs. The latest model has a different spark arrestor, and also "holes" in the legs, and 2 stakes to stake the stove down with. Also, a nested pipe. Just a heads up.

EDIT: I did find the medium version for $550, so I'm guessing the large will be in the $600 vicinity.

At about 3:47 on the vid. Roll up pipe seems better:
