Been wanting one for quite some time now. Got a nice check today, logged into my email, and had an email that the tent I've been looking at was half off until Christmas Eve. Jumped all over it. $345>$172

Nice to have a 3 day weekend. Get to sleep in a bit. Been getting up at 3:15 for about six weeks now. Looking forward to my normal 4:15, haha.

Merry Christmas! Spending the morning drinking coffee and watching the rain. At least we had snow yesterday!

The Warrior The Warrior What hot tent are you looking at? We bought one last fall. Looked at a number of options ranging from canvas to nylon. In the end, we went with a 16 person Seek Outside tipi-style tent and a Big Mamma Ti stove.

Both are made in the US.

The tent has a surprising amount of interior space but only weighs about 14 pounds with the pegs and pole. The canvas tents were very tempting, but the weight and bulk were the deal-breakers for us.

I like the Seek Outside tents, but they are pricey. I went with the Luxe Octopeak 6 person.

Seems a bit roomy for 2 people, but by the time you add a stove, it's about right for 2 people plus gear. I may purchase a 2.5 person inner for it too.

Yeah, were trying to decide between the 8, 12 and 16 person tent and quickly realized that the interior space shrinks considerably when you add the stove. We went big because of the dogs and the fact that will use this as a basecamp tent during climbing trips.

Merry Christmas, Heads!

Not a lot of need for hot tents here this year. Still running the air conditioning more days than not. I'd love a little cool, dry air!

Older kids sleeping late on Christmas morning means the only excitement we've seen around here so far was an armadillo running through the yard. Dog is still looking for another one.
