Definitely pulled it off...+1 on the curly maple, too!

I got a big 1850's flying eagle penny that I found. still in decent shape too. its big for a penny.

Holy shit, Todd.

Does that have a home?

Mine for the time being. It was just a experiment. Think I'll hold onto it for a little while. I may be on to something. The process I use should work with any color, but I think I'm gonna R&D this one. See how it holds up after some woods time, camping/kayaking trips and maybe some squirrel hunting.

Well it looks fantastic.

It will be interested to see how the color holds up after some use.

I'm pretty certain it will be unaffected. But, until I know for sure. It don't leave the shop. One of the cool things about what I do, I get to play with whatever I want. ;)

Went to the father in laws tonight. The wife cooked up some Melanzane alla Parmigiana. Sprinkled a little Pecorino Romano on that bad boy = damn.

I suppose that is definitely one of the perks of the knifemaking profession.:D

I envy that.

It reminds me of what they do to a some guitars when they dye the wood. Black dye - sanding - color dye.

nice one Todd - what kind of dye did you use?
aniline? unsweetened kool-ade mixed w/rubbing alcohol instead of water?
