Snark it, Snark it Good

I didnt know there was any such thing as pet insurance............................. Hope your pooch is O.K. ac

Yep, and there are several companies that offer it.

Nothing worse than having to put an animal down because you cant afford the vet fees. Im not taking any chances of getting in that position. I picked the best options i could find... 90% reimbursement of ALL claims with only 100 deductible a year and no annual or per incident caps. Ever... Even if i never use it its worth the 34 a month just for the peace of mind. Breaking a leg or even swallowing a toy can cost thousands, something like cancer, or even back and knee surgeries can cost tens of thousands. Id rather be safe than sorry.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my pooch fellas. Out vet snuck us in late this afternoon. We will see what happens.

Might just be a fatty cyst AC. That happened to my moms cat, and it was no biggy. Hope the pup is alright bud.

Hopefully its something that simple. It would certainly be a relief. It seems like the older she gets, the more odd things we end up getting her checked out for.

My old blue heeler had a few of those fatty tumors for years. The vet said they were nothing to worry about when we took her in to have them checked out.

Got on the scale last night. 290lbs, my all time heaviest. Damn.

Happy Thirstday, everyone!

James, do you ever sleep? Just noticed that you're also up.

I'm more of a cat-napper. I never could get used to the standard 24-hr cycle, ever since I was a little kid. Perhaps I was born on a different planet with longer days...

We've had several dogs that developed these fatty cysts. Hopefully Silverthorn is correct, because he is correct that it is not a huge deal. Doesn't require immediate attention or lots of money to take to care of.

In other news, I'm in southern NM/west TX for some work. Gonna be here for 6 weeks. :( Drove 10-11 hours on Tuesday to get here, and some of us got leased vehicles to use while we're here. I've got a Ford F150 4X4 with Florida license plates. I thought I'd misplaced it yesterday when a couple of us walked by on our way to Subway for lunch. There was a similar looking truck with a Texas plate on the front parked in what I thought was the same spot. After we walked back from lunch, I got the keys and was able to open that truck.... Apparently the leasing company (Acme Leasing...haha...no kidding) had a Florida plate on the rear and Texas plate on the front. I figured I better remove the front plate since the registration in the glove box was from Florida and I'm pretty sure TX law enforcement would frown on having different plates front and back.

Also stopped by what we in (or formerly in) the Army would call the Class VI (six) Store and picked up some libations. FYI, the US Army has 10 (X in the Roman) classes of supply, with Class VI being personal demand items (such as health and hygiene products, soaps and toothpaste, writing material, snack food, beverages, cigarettes, batteries, alcohol, and cameras—nonmilitary sales items). In normal garrison operations, the Class VI Store is essentially a "package store" and only sells adult beverages (and mixers)...you go to the Post Exchange (PX or BX) to buy all that other non-essential stuff. Since all of you rave about these weird beers, I picked up one of these in addition to some Blue Moon seasonal:

for $10.60 (no sales tax either). Even if it's not great, I figure it's worth that for 4 bottles.

The question is, do I chill it before drinking or serve at room temperature?

EVEN IF IT'S NOT GREAT?!?!?!
Dude. before you find out for yourself, let me warn you: the glass of those bottles is *clear*.
That is one of my all-time favorites, and I would venture to say that stouts from Great Britain are hardly 'weird'. They did it before us. It's OUR beer that's 'weird'.
As for temp, what's your room temperature? I'd aim for about 50F for those.
If you don't like 'em, send me the rest. :D

What can I say... I'm half German on my father's side and spend two 3-year tours in Germany while in the Army. I like German beer and white wine... And Italian red wine... So I can live without the French, but perhaps should give Great Britain a chance... ;) I'm still pretty partial to a good heffeweizen though.

I do confess that "American" beers (mass produced, watered-down) don't have much flavor at all. My first tour in Germany pretty much blew any chance of me enjoying a Budweiser, Michelob, Coors, Schlitz etc, ever again. I was underwhelmed by Busch beer even before then...seems like Busch was only consumed by the huddled masses around St. Louis anyway.

Hehehehe.
"It comes in pints". That's all I have to say. ;)

Not a bad beer, roommate used to get it all the time. Never seen it served at room temperature though, but I did see it consumed so slowly that it half of it was drunk at room temperature.

There is that... but 500 ml is pretty close, and metric to boot!

And thank goodness for the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX. They have a lot of great choices, with their standard Shiner Bock always being an excellent choice.

Also, room temp is about 72 F, so I'll need to chill them a bit.

I always drink it chilled, but that's how I drink most of my beer. SS Oatmeal Stout is great. If you like chocolate beer, they make an Organic Chocolate Stout that is incredible.

good afternoon fellas, my work day just started and i wish it was over already. AC hope your dog is ok. hope everyone else is having a good day.

I wish I had a pair of jeans that everytime I reached in the pocket I'd pull out a $100 dollar bill. Instead all I get is lint. This sucks
