Saw this movie title earlier. Had to think of the local murph.

Also grilled up some steaks yesterday

pretty close minus the bad adittude and the beer in the hand.

I have one of these to keep the perimeter secure.

I use to have a terminator T-800 but one of my neighbors was named Sarah Conner and, well...

Does it work to protect perimeter of the work table and toolbox?

I need one!!!

Hey Jerry how do you like that grey ghost bag? I was looking at one for an edc pack

I really like it. It's their lightweight assault pack in the litelok material. I've only had a little more than a week with it, but it's been my pseudo edc bag. I might toss a Becker or two and go see how it does out bushwacking this weekend. That or fill it full of beer again and go drink with Todd and Murph.

It is just a simple, lightweight no BS pack, but I was surprised with how much it held. There is no organization inside if you care about that. Just the hydration bladder pocket, main compartment and front pocket. The main compartment has a few sleeves on each side that could hold a water bottle or something similar. You may want an admin pouch for small items and writing sticks for school duty. I posted another picture of it in the Becker bag thread last week with three days worth of crap loaded in it when I had to be away from home for a couple of days. It held the clothes and other crap just fine with room for a Becker, Magua, leatherman, FAK, phone charger, coozie, pistol, etc... and room to spare.

As far as having a gun readily available for my Gf to use, that's not the problem. I just don't think she would use it even tho she knows how. She even said she probably wouldn't be able to shoot someone if something ever did happen. If she had it and didn't use it, that could turn into a whole other horrible situation. I'd like to find something else she could use for her defense if I'm not hone. We have Lucky, a 65lb lab that might go after someone that's not supposed to be here. She is such a loving dog that I have my doubts if she would or not. She would at the least alert her if someone broke in.

Has anyone used the gel pepper sprays? Them and a super bright flashlight are probably her best bet. We talked about it last night and came up with somewhat of a plan for her to try get herself locked in our bedroom with the dog if possible. I'm going to put a good flashlight and probably some pepper spray on her nightstand.

If I'm at home she gets her phone and gets into the closet while I am checking things out. Fwiw, we have good locking windows and locks on solid doors. I would like to find a way to secure the windows a bit more though.

Some of you have asked when I'll be doing full knives again...
well, still working on it... Haven't finished anything with handles in awhile, but this one is tempering now. 3/32" A2. I was relieved it came out straight - I hate straightening blades.

Looks real purdy, daizee.
LOL for Kevin. Once you have a :love_heart: on for something....there's not much you can do.

I was wondering if I was going to like the Mississippi Mud that I posted earlier andi have been pleasantly surprised. Its actually quite good!

Daizee, that is a great blade! It looks like it would be great for slicing through tenderloins :D Not quite large enough to slice through a whole loin but the tenderloin shouldn't be a problem. Two of those in two sizes would be GREAT for the kitchen... One for tenderloin/potatoes/carrots/stuff, and a larger one for whole loins, deboning chickens, looking sexy on the counter! I'm not sure who Kevin is but apparently he hasn't changed and he <3 men... At least he's stood by his guns!

AC, You know I heard once guys back in the day used to love to beat their feet in the mississippi mud... Never thought it would turn into a beer though!

I just got home from sitting for 2 and a half hours of propaganda... er... Sorry the new Captain America. It was really NOT good. If I'd had to pay for it I'd of been pissed. Oh wait... I did. At least I knew enough to drink half a bottle of vodka before going. It made it so at least I sat through the whole thing. Now though I'm laying in bed watching Lion King.

I think that boils down to a mentality and training issue. Maybe a women's hand-to-hand self defense class would be a good start. It would give her some useful knowledge in it's own right and help cultivate the proper mindset that she could possibly build on later.

Here's a really good video on home defense planning by Massad Ayoob who's a pretty big name who is highly respected and considered to be an expert on the subject of personal defense.

Massad Ayoob, Clint Smith, and Rob Pincus are all considered to be authorities on the subject and have videos on youtube and DVD's for sale that contain a wealth on knowledge and good advice.

I got bored of playing team deathmatch and turned on old episodes of dual survival to watch while I browse the interwebs. I found a new recall from Remington for rifles with the X Mark Pro trigger that could cause it to fire accidentally. It looks like my Rem 700 is part of the recall, but I've never had any trouble with it, so I think I'll avoid sending it back to them unless I absolutely need to.

Hmmm. I have never had a knife in A2..:D

I've seen that around. Never tried a black and tan so I may have to pick one up.

good video!

call 911 on landline. provide information. tell them you are putting phone down and hiding. do so. if you have extensions, pick up any as you go by, and set them aside. they are microphones, and recording.

call 911 on cell phone. keep cell phone on you. now you have TWO recording.

if you have a camcorder, or even MORE cell phone, do it.

hide.

ideally, you want to lock yourself away, where the bad buy *and* the police cannot get to you directly. let it play out.

otherwise, imho, the first thing you say to the police:
o i was afraid for my life
o i think i'm injured, i need an ambulance
o you may not search the property, or seize property, unless you show a warrant
o i will not say anything further until i speak with counsel
o then SHUT UP

this assume certain outcomes. presumably, asking for medical and counsel prevent them from questioning you or immediately throwing your ass in jail.

make sure you say this loudly so 911 on your landline and cell phone can record it.

if you refuse search/seizure, if they do, and try to find you at fault, it might be harder for them.

absolutely do not approach police if you call them. lock your ass inside and stay there.

imho. i am not a lawyer, but hey, you don't wanna get shot, eh?

also review the videos: do not talk to cops
