Nice lawnmower blade and nice sheath, tradewater. Funny, I just watched averageiowa's youtube vids on his lawnmowerblades the other day and now you come along showing off one of 'em. Nice score!

MM - great looking feather sticks! Did you use pine dowels or what? My feather sticks are usually kinda half assed but I mostly use whatever I can find laying around; sometimes live oak, sometimes plum or peach tree branches.

I was eye ballin the pics of that knife from the last gathering Trade, really liked it. The sheath compliments it well. Nice work!

Thanks man. I did a little reshaping to improve the balance and give me another couple of uses for the front.

What it did look like:

And now

And I see I need some paint on my outdoor kitchen frame....:D But the pond is full!!

I thought it looked a little different than I remembered but I couldnt place it.

The wood I used was White pine, I dug it out of my dad's scrap wood pile. Feather sticks take a lot of practice. Try making shavings first, when you can get nice curly shavings, start leaving them on the stick!

I have a thoroughly-researched, deep-seated, scientifical, some would say zealous, verging on flying-into-a-violent-rage bias against using cheap re-purposed low-to-medium-carbon unknown steel for knives, based on thousands of hours of study and testing - that's no secret.

But I *cough*ahem*mutter* grudgingly admit... if you're absolutely bent on doing that sort of thing, AIG is doing it right.

Haha, I get great humor out of this post because I know exactly what you mean here. AIG uses materials that most makers would snarl there nose up at and still manages to make a fantastic product. He's very resourceful and I have a lot of respect for what he does.

Having said that, I dont want to let to much out of the bag but your going to see very soon some new, shall we say more precision work come from AIG very soon. Ive been helping him on some projects and look forward to there completion................ I can say no more!

Trade good work on that sheath!

Got the MR Hot Top yesterday, gonna love this rig I believe. One of the cam lock buckles was broken, I don't think the seller realized this at all. Called the Ranch today, they're rushing a couple replacement buckles out free of charge.

so when are those file knives coming out? :D

Yep, agreed on both counts.

Kick ass.... I got my tiny Grey Ghost Gear assault pack yesterday. It should be a nice replacement for my red NF.

You'll never see 'em here, and you may never see 'em at all. That's gunshow stuff, if anything. ;)

Spending a couple hours locked in a rental car with a Beckerhead you barely know, can give you some insight into how he thinks. I daresay AIG has a lot more going on inside his noggin than he sometimes lets on. :)

Believe it or not, Wally. They've got D rings, buckles and cord locks.

I didn't even think to look there :o. Thanks!

Yup, in the section near the packs and all the tiny dumb camping BS stuff. Not expensive either. I have some laying around just because I found them on clearance so I tossed 'em in the cart. They also have black nylon straps that I have repurposed for various things.

Scored a couple of these 52100 straight razor blanks for a crazy good price. They are already HT'd to 60HRC with Cryo by PHT.

I would appreciate keeping our "private" life...... Private. :p

Another thing, I dont appreciate being called an "it"..... I have been called worse though. :D

Giggity ;)

Nice score on those razor blades! What kind of handles are you going to give them?
