 cooli got a trailhawk a week or two ago and i still cant figure out why that dang little screw is in there in the first place. I think someone jokingly said it was put in my the CS legal team hahaha!
I took the bit off, filed out the the inside of the eye to smooth the edges, sandpapered the haft end where the bit snugs up to remove the nasty little cuts the head put on them and then put it too work. Nice little hawk, serious bang for the buck! I'm planning on sanding down the haft and and refinishing it, maybe stripping the bit too, just not enough hours in a day.
So, I was watching TV and they made a joke about having a "monogrammed steak knife" which got me thinking... I would love one. But then the additional thought of what would I want it to be... This is what I came up with:

First attempt at kydex is a resounding success!

"That knife is not a Becker! What is it?" You say? That is a knife of my own design and construction! It cracked when I quenched it and I left the edge too thick. So I tempered the spine back really soft and drilled a hole at the end of the crack and convexed it. I also put rough micarta scales on it. Enough of my rambling.

Thanks! It means a lot coming from you Thor. This is my first kydex sheath, but I have made five or six knives. This one is WAY below my usual standard but I like it. Right now I'm using files, a dremel, a drill press, and lots of sandpaper. Right now I am saving up money for a 2x42.Seriously man. If those are your first efforts at both then your doing better than fine. Well done. If I could give some advice, it would be save your money for some equipment. It all snowballs from here buddy, welcome to the addiction!
Oh yea! Upgraded my membership suckas! "Stay GOLD Pony Boy"
So, I got a new cast iron pan. I don't remember how to season it though... Trade? Dubz? Biscuit? E? Vik?
