I certainly hope that doesn't happen to the knife I Ryan Weeks just finished up for me!

Ryan says good things about the stuff. I think I saw him say somewhere that if it were to crap out he would repair or replace the scales.

That knife is freakin beautifull. I really like Ryans work. Good score man!

hmmm...
been looking for a 12 CM zebra.
when you decide you really don't want it, drop me a PM or email please.

That is the same stuff Dan Eastland of Dogwood Knives is using on his newest model, the Echo 5. He said its held up pretty well so far but if there are any problems he will replace/repair. Tried to post a pic--wouldnt let me up load it--heres the link: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...hart-redux-amp-Echo-5?p=11803658#post11803658

mmm, heavy iron...

i bet every flea market near me sells cast iron for mega money. too many crafty people.

Time for a kickstarter to produce quality bare cast iron cookware onshore again...

Living in the deep South, I've not had much call to melt snow. But I tried it yesterday for kicks and giggles.
I never realized the yield was so low. 10:1 from what I'm reading. In other words, 10 inches in a pot boils down to about an inch of water.
Learned something useful.

Is that a 5, or 8 cup bush pot?

In on one suckas!!!! Snark. I don't know nothin' 'bout no cook pots. I did get a knife phonebook paper slicing, tree topping sharp yesterday, though.

I didnt know about that camp out Vik......Thought it was in Dec?

Anyone in here ever use one of those Vargo titanium backpacking stoves? Thinking about getting a wood-burning backpacking stove.

Nice score. Saw a slingshot made out of that as well. A Bill Hayes custom:

Your link didn't work but I found his facebook page. You're talking about the brightly coloured C-Tek handles? They look pretty cool.

Yea I love his work. I started following him on facebook and after seeing enough of his work I just had to have one for myself. I hope that mail service has the knife to me by next week.

I have an Emberlit on the way.

I was going to order one, but was wanting to try it out sooner than the backorder time would allow.

I think I may, too. Looks to be decent quality and it would pack nicely.

I was just checking these two out down on the River and the quick and dirty look at the reviews gave me the impression that the Vargo was a bit on the small side

edit...you know how it goes with those reviews - a lot of initial impressions and not much use or comparison so it would be great to hear from more reliable sources.
