Dang! I imagined those items are only on clearance in California walmarts, certainly not in Tennessee :D

Cheapo Depot had the Sidekicks on sale for $19 around the holidays, including a "Croc" prybar/wrench/bottle opener thingy. Probably still have them, on the web if not in store.

Looking leads to lusting which leads to empty pockets. This is the worst support group ever.

On a positive note, I didn't even think about bidding on that Patrol Machete on the 'bay. So I saved myself like $250 right there....

Saw that. I bought one of the sale Wingmans. Scissors! And a carabiner bottle opener.

The guy says he removed his offer cause there is "no edge at all" which makes no sense to me. It obviously has an edge, it just isn't sharpened. If it didn't have an edge we would all be living on a piece of 1095 Cro-Van.

You see what I mean, yet you go and do a dastardly thing like that. Of course I looked. Luckily, I already have a 9 and I'm not that into multiples. Of knives. I'm fresh out of blade $. Just got a 15 w/ micarta in the mail today along with a Maxped Mongo (which I only got so I would have a place to put my *awesome* BK&T patch, thank you Jonny) and a Gerber LHR headed my way as well. And the BRKT Bravo 1 that I just paid for....birthday cash spent!. More stuff I gotta sell, just to make up the difference. I don't think being home with a back injury has been very good for my personal economy. Not being able to be as active as I like (and not working, which takes up a LOT of time otherwise spent shmying) just means too much time spent looking at stuff I probably wouldn't have even known I needed/wanted. Ah, well. Be back to work in a couple of weeks, and spring is just around the corner....although I don't carry a knife whilst on my (road) bike.

But the Wingman didn't come with the Croc. I bought a couple of the Sidekick deals, and gave one to a friend for Christmas. Guy's been a carpenter for 45 years, rock/ice climber & general outdoors guru, and he's never had a Leatherman or any other multitool. Best $20 gift I ever gave. I was actually afraid it was too cheap (he's a gear freak), but he was floored, which doesn't happen often. I actually think it's a really nice tool for the money. Shoulda got a couple more.
 
Yeah, I picked up one of those Wingman's when they were on sale at the depot. $20 was hard to pass up. The scissors were the deciding factor. I use it a lot at work. They're handy little tools. I really need to throw one in my rig...
 
Got some new kit over the last couple of days. A Pathfinder cookset which is pretty badass and I thought these German surplus butter dishes are great for carrying coffee, tobacco etc.

The butter dishes look like a cool idea. I had a pathfinder canteen setup, bought it on the early release.
