This is why I have a .17HMR

The small town I grew up in actually had a group of turkeys that would wonder around town. The city finally had to step in and take care of them. Typical government waste, half the residents would have done it for free.

All of the rimfire ammo has been rare as hen's teeth here. Saw a few boxes of .17hmr today but I don't own one. Thinking about a savage 93R17TR. I have a MKIITR which is the same thing in a .22lr and I love it. Need to get some of the project guns finished first though.

Today was more like Christmas for me then Thanksgiving. While I was at work I was advised of a limited time employee sale which allowed me to buy almost 30lbs of frozen chicken for $94 (yay for a stocked freezer!)

I also had a package arrive in the mail today waiting for me when I got home from work....

Something to pair nicely with my BK2 for EDC. ZT0350OR limited edition serial# 0097. So stoked! Got it from the exchange and was not expecting it until tomorrow.

New steel always makes me giddy like a kid on Christmas

i basically just threw it together... will make a couple tiny mods (change the reinforcement blocks). it's all deck screws so it's like legos. make, adjust...


for outdoors, this is my plan for life:

just shy of 4 cords, and stupidly simple. self-supporting. FAST. you just pay attention to the walls, and will in the middle with loose stuff. totally off the ground (even the pallets are on ceeeement flats)

at 88 inches wide, about every 2 feet of height is a cord. 4 feet makes 2 cord. 6 feet makes 3 cord and "high enough". various ways to cap it, or not.

starts like this:

as you go around, you put in side pieces to keep the slope inwards. FAST. easy.

i can lob pieces into the middle loose, as i split them, directly from the splitting station. no walking, no bending over! no back strain!
