it was REALLY good.

followed the techniques in Modernist Cuisine at Home...

funny, that the store pulls all the fish but lobster by 8pm... but i can buy fresh lobster 24x7? word.

bit of prep, cooking time is in two blocks of 15 minutes; prep include 1.5 and 4 minutes of blanching (tails vs claws)

mmm, i should do a mini gathering

should clean the house too :D

Bladite, just buy a Tavor already.I know you're hoping we'll chip in and buy you one to shut you up but everyone is either broke or likes buying guns for themselves too much to buy you one. :p

that shark was jumped. special edition :D amazeballs.

right now i've got a rack of ribs to frak around with. 14 hour cook. we'll see how that goes.

O.k. Some of you may remember me starting a low budget AR build a month or two ago. Thought I'd update you on the progress considering it seemed like there was a lot of people that told me what I couldn't do opposed to what I can do. Not necessarily here. But you know, maybe it was my fault for asking opinions....... Anyway, I now have a complete firing rifle. I horse traded for parts here and there, shopped around, begged, barrowed, machined my own lower, mixed, matched yadda yadda yadda. Its nothing extravagant, but like I said, it is a fully functional rifle, in the 5.56 cal, I have four fully loaded 30rd. clips for it and right now how it is pictured I have $208. of my own cash money in it.

So, admittedly, the high point in the first pic doesn't belong to me, but the rest is mine. Its not all high dollar stuff but I know what I'm going to do from here. I'm going to cut down the front sight, put a extended free floating forearm on it, change the sights, and machine my own flash suppressor for it. I think when im done I'm gonna have a kick ass rifle. Still will come in the $400. range I think. The plan as of now is to take it out, do a function check, then I'm going to tear it down, have my lower custom laser engraved with the T.M.Hunt stink, reassemble with new parts mentioned above........ Think its gonna turn out pretty cool for my first one.

Very impressive! I'm looking at the vortex spitfire 3x optic. In my looking around I've found that they seem to be pretty sweet for their price range and they have a lifetime replacement warranty.

Good looking rifle Tim.

Hahaha you guys had me so messed up with that when I met all of you. Haha

vortex strike eagle is good optic for the money

bed time

I thought he already had one as much as he talks about it :D

I never even heard of a Tavor until Bladite started going on about them... I would like to fire a few rounds through one now though....

My wife's 22 is all put together and finished... Still going to upgrade the optics but it may be a few months down the road. Excellent, deadly accurate rifle..... The sled... Meh... It works but the craftsmanship isnt great... They only threaded the last 2 bolt holes, if they threaded all of them it would be more efficient and adjustable... Bolts are crap... Thread on the lower/raising bar had burs all over it out the box.... After a little tinkering it works fine, its cheaper than the "Lead Sled".... But the build quality isnt as good either. Get what you pay for and all that...

Some sexy rifles up in this thread! Awesome stuff guys!

I've had the pleasure of shooting a Tavor a few times at the gun club / range. I really like the balance and overall 'feel' of the gun. Like Hoss mentioned - it would take some training to get used to the mag changes and fixing malfunctions. Up here they are super pricey because if you get them in the 18 inch barrel it changes the classification of the rifle to make them 'non-restricted' (meaning you can use them outside of the range on private property).

So, last spring we had a tree that died, had to get it removed. The guys that came and removed it dropped part of it on the mailbox and claimed no knowledge... Does anyone know how much of a pain in the ass it is to remove a mailbox? I do not ever want to go through that again! It had this stupid metal bracket underneath it that the box drilled into and then that was drilled into this post and yeah... screw ever having to do that again. If I ever have to remove that thing again, I'm moving!

They did it wrong...the bracket screws to the post, then the box screws to the bracket from the lip that hangs down on the sides at the bottom of the box. See this all the time...

I replaced the fart fan in my bathroom today.
It was easy.
I went with the turbo charged model just for good measure.
Life's too short for a stinky bathroom...

That's good stinkin', er, thinkin'.

I did do the 80% lower, but I got two lowers, and didn't use the shitty jig. I took apart a buddies AR and took the measurements and worked off of mil spec blue prints to machine my own. Still have another lower to play with to in this whole deal.

Very nice work. Looking forward to seeing what else you do with it.

Screws were rusted over. 8 pound sledge hammer makes short work of it. Then used angle grinder to remove the head of the screws to get the brackets off. Then filed the screws flat, and put the new mail box just on top of it and screwed it in from the sides.

I want a bathroom where I can fit a big ass fan into it. It seems fitting to put a big ass fan into a bathroom.
