Snark Will Tear Us Apart

I did order myself some stuff last night. A lightning OTF auto knife, a Sog Snarl (A licensed copy of a Brous Blades Silent Soldier) and some Magpul stuff to mount a light to my MOE handguard. Gonna order the rounded tri-hone for my KME so I can sharpen my ZT0350.
Those Lightning OTF's are a ton of fun, and seem to take a pretty good edge, too. I was using mine for opening presents today, much to my family's chagrin. They're still fun as hell. Made my brother open and close it so he could see how it won't just pop open accidentally.

I can't EDC an auto in CO so it'll get played with more than anything. I can get away with it at work though so it'll probably end up on my vest.

I woke up today -- considering how I felt yesterday I figure that puts me well ahead of the curve, although I have to admit - I miss coal...

Had Xmas dinner with the family at Sky City, the Resturant at the top of the Space Neddle, in Seattle. The prime rib sucks, but the veggies and desert were awesome. Had a beer while I was there too.

Wife went to bed at 6.... Eldest son went to bed at 7.... daughter and infant wont go to sleep.... :( I want to go to bed

Gus and Triggs inspired me to pick up a Helinox camp chair finally. Should be about perfect for kayak overnighters.

Packs down to nearly nothing for a kayak hold.

Going to add the PVC skids for river sandbars.

I received this from my step daughter for Christmas. She knows I like the old timey/rustic items. She said she found it in an antique store. I'm thinking it's some sort of hammer. Perhaps a hammer/billet for arrowheads? Not sure, what do you think?

About a foot long:

You can see where they added a pin to hold the handle in. Looks like initials, that they filled with lead for weight:

Its definitely a hammer of some sort, hard telling for what specifically, but its definitely for some specific task. I'd like to feel the weight of it. Its very cool. Could be some sort of light engraving or leather working hammer.

I never weighed it, but it does have a bit of weight to it. Never thought of a leather working hammer.

I have a graving hammer that of coarse is very light, you don't have to hit them hard. It looks like the face is porous which makes me think its something that wouldn't see a lot of hard hits. Like leather work or engraving.

So I'm easing out of the Christmas day with a glass of Crown Royal on the rocks, layed back in my bedroom watching True Grit, the original John Wayne version shot in 1969. I'm convinced this version is better than the Jeff Bridges remake.

I end up in Mass a lot for work, and tho NH has no carry restrictions, MA certainly does. I've still been carrying an auto, tho - a scale release HK Scorch. You can just open it with the thumbstud like a regular folder and since there's no button, no one would even know it's an auto. Half the people I've shown it to still can't actuate it even after I show them how.

I just picked up an Asian knock off of a MT OTF for $20. Double edged. Wouldn't cut a fart when I got it; took a bit of time with the Worksharp and at least now it's a knife instead of a blunt metal toy. Still surprising how crisp the action is for something so cheap....
