I'm not normally big on mixing whiskey with anything but more whiskey... but I gotta admit, Apple Crown sounds pretty interesting. Back in the day we used to shoot "apple jacks" from time to time... half JD, half apple schnapps. From what I can remember, I enjoyed it... :p :o

One word: Calvados

A visit home... sharpening, as usual:

It way too early to be up, but this hotel bed and pillows SUCK! We are down in Fargo where the girlfriends brother is in the hospital. They got him going on chemo and radiation, but now he has had multiple strokes and is laid up in the hospital until they figure out what happened. He completely lost the ability to speak for a while and is having quite a bit of hand-eye coordination problems. He is now able to put together sentences, but it takes some time and he gets confused pretty easily. Hopefully he keeps making progress and can get back to his cancer treatments soon.

Not a good time, Wildcat...... Was there with both parents and it is an awful time...... Having it all happen at Christmas just compounds the just downright crappiness of a really bad time..... I hope things improve...... And soon.....

Amanda sold about 6oz of dried and processed chaga last night for $30. They asked if she would have a steady supply of it. At that price, maybe...

We might be going out looking for more today to process.

Thanks Ethan. We are hoping they get it figured out soon. They have a test they want to do, bit have to wait until his blood is able to clot better. The holidays is definitely a tough time for this to happen, but everyone is dealing with it fairly well.

Good morning Mike!

Did the girls have a good Christmas?

Jeremy
Good morning! Fell asleep after a nice fire last night, left the computer on.... For winter in NH, it is much too warm. Nice to sit comfortably by a fire in shorts and a hoody, tho.

That's a good deal Amanda got for that chaga.

I've been throwing and using an American Tomahawk (basically a CS Trail hawk) and a CRKT Kangee. They both throw great, tho I have to throw the CRKT harder to make it stick. The Kangee would (and will be) my choice for carrying and camp use. Shorter haft, much thicker blade (actually splits well) and overall nicer setup and finish for not much more $. Course I got a great deal on mine from Dex, which was icing on the cake. Do what JT says and get the extra handle.....I already dinged up both of mine and took a good chunk out of the Kangee's, hitting it with the other. Maybe throw them one at a time....

Orc castle complete.

Beer + Beef Jerky + Lego = what I was doing with my son yesterday!

I do however use the 'Kragle' If it is a set piece or something that you use directions to build. He's got an entire Rubermaid container of non-set pieces to build whatever he wants. Keeps it from breaking if it gets left on the floor and I step on it.

Thoughts and Prayers AC

Grilled a steak on the George Foreman for breakfast. Considering I bought both at walmart and slapped it straight on the grill from the fridge without doing anything to it, it turned out OK. Needs A1 though.

First, stop having sex at the Gatherings.
Second, you had me until you said vegan. I'm out.

Morning folks. Rained really hard here last night. Trying to dry some things this morning. Currently enjoying a cup of black coffee (Sumatra beans) and sampling a new tin of Peterson old Dublin pipe tobacco. I'm really liking this English blend. Seems a bit lighter than Squadron Leader, but still has a sufficient amount of smokey. sweetness I want in an English blend.

Small, medium, or large?

I'm torn between the shawnee hawk and medium camp ax...

I like the medium camp axe. A good compromise of features and weight, and it throws quite nicely. Not as good as the CS shovel, but nothing does..:D

Getting a little stir crazy myself. About to go run in the rain. Then, I may just say screw it, don the rain gear, and go fishing.

But first.... coffee.

I need to start throwing more things. Maybe I'll make a BK-9 whirling dervish of death.
