S35vn Boker Urban trapper was released this morning.
1000 piece run and about 2/3 the way through their stock. It is inexpensive too.

Do a Google search for urban trapper s35vn and it should show up, near the top of the results.

I don't have any from before I started on it. Here is how she looks now:

I spent about two hours on it on and off the belt sander and grinder. Took as much of the rust off it as I could. Had to fix the corners of the edge as they were broken off. Rounded em off and convexed the edge on my belt sander. It won't take a fine edge, but you can beat it through anything.

albacore, since you asked.
(I was gonna say 'pinkflesh' and then remembered that I DID know)

Ah! Thunnus Alalunga, first tuna I ever caught, and while trolling no less! :D We have not seen them in some time, maybe next season.

respect.

re: upbringing
my parents' standard beer when I was a kid was Ballantine Ale. Never had it as an adult, but the logo always makes me think of pretzels. Also, my dad probably always drank it with pretzels.

As cheap beers go, Ballantine is alright.....tho their Ballantine IPA is astounding for the cost: I purchased 2 cases at $12 per case! BeerAdvocate agrees. Needless to say, I was more than pleasantly surprised - and VERY bummed when I went back to stock up and there was only one case left.

Something happened that triggered craft breweries to start making IPAs, now 50% of all craft beers are IPAs and I'm annoyed because they don't really taste that good (Ballast Point's Sculpin and The Brother from Fremont Brewing are exceptions) but they are everywhere. I'm hoping the fad dies down quick.

And, to the point of to each their own, I hope the "fad" continues unabated. I like hops and I cannot lie, those other brewers can't deny, that their dry-hopped beers are sweet, make me shiver from my head to my feet. I, for someone who decades ago couldn't even stomach beer, have become a serious hophead. Actually, I really love beers that kind of punch you in the face with flavor. As long as it's reasonably well balanced - or even not, as Sam Adams Infinium proved to me: it's more like barley wine, but labelled and sold as beer. It has some of the most interesting and complex flavors....
Super hoppy beers that (to me) are not bitter, but (to me) taste more floral and fruity are Founder's Centennial IPA, Lagunitas Little Sumpin' (as well as their regular IPA) and Sam Adams Rebel and Rebel Rouser. I could (obviously) go on, but.....ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

mmMmm. That was just cruel, dropping that here like that.

Or click on the pic.....I have one in Ti (it's a frame lock) and it is a dandy dress/discreet folder - and still a good sized blade. I get their mail....I didn't look at the drop for fear that I'd convince myself to purchase another knife. I think I'll check it out, tho.....just to test my resolve ;).

daizee, I'm really digging that counter top.

Also, I recall reading about your approval of Red Hook ESB probably a couple years ago. Now that I have moved, I found a place that sells it. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

GSOM, I am really in a pale ale binge right now, not IPA just pale ale, every one I can find. Gose beers are hit-or-miss right now, I must just not eat the right foods to drink IPAs or sours regularly.

I find most light-colored ales or lagers to be perfect just about anytime I need a beer, the darker ales are usually drunk without food because they have too much flavor to pair well with most food.

CB, Red Hook is everywhere here, but I have yet to try it. Brewed locally if I remember correctly.

I've been digging Sweetwater 420 pale ale lately. You've probably tried it but if not go for it.
