Whimpy is kinda catchy, but in regard to Popeye character names, I always liked Sweet Pea.

new BK-3 is now dedicated kindling splitter at the cabin. EEEEeeexcellent.

I'm at work so I can't sleep or drink. If I could find a job where I could do both I would be the best employee ever.

Yeah I feel that. I need to find a brewery or distillery to work at. Day shift even.

M4 is a personal favorite. When kept between 61 and 64 (@ .030 bte and 12-15 dps) it seems to land right I a sweet spot of edge retention, ease of maintenance and lack of worry from accidental contact with anything that one would cringe at.
I have ran my ZT0770cfM4 with edges ranging from 220 grit toothy to 10k+ polished and it was easy to maintain either way (I prefer toothy) but that is due to my work conditions.

Materials normally encountered are plastic, double walled cardboard, pallets, inadvertent contact with steel and aluminum machinery parts, raw meats, and basically anything in a warehouse (that I haven't already named).

For a frame of reference, my BK11 would last 1-2 days and wouldn't cleanly slice paper, BK11csm and vg10 endura can go 1-3. Cruwear will go 3-5 days and my M4 will go 5-7 days. These are averages dependant heavily upon workloads, but just to give you an idea.

That all being said, I carry a Cruwear manix daily and my ZT stays at home. I can easily touch up the cruwear on a butchers steel, is Faster to sharpen and isn't as prone to staining.

None of the above. :D

How about
Odin - Odin is associated with healing, death, royalty, the gallows, knowledge, battle, sorcery, poetry, frenzy, and the runic alphabet

or

Thor - hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing and fertility

or

Loki - the trickster, a shapeshifter, the embodiment of contradictions.

Then there is AXT, which is German for Axe.

And Hammer, which is German for ..... Hammer. :D

Show up with a Viking battle ax and get ALL the beer!

obviously you haven't met her -- after the 5th or 6th horn full of beer, she gets mean...

oh, wait, you meant one of these, didn't you?

M4 steel. Opinions, experiences? Go!

I have a BM Contego in M4 - only other thing I can compare it to is, for the feeling of cutting with it (if that make any sense...), is something similar to A2. Fine-grained toothiness. I haven't had any reason yet to even touch the Contego's blade....still sharp as when I got it over a year ago. Granted, I only carry it a few times a month - but I was slicing through errant blackberry canes the last time it was in my pocket. Seems like pretty good steel.

Then again, Ulfberht has a nice ring. :)

plus, doesn't it have something to do with bright wolves?
