I was wearing my new Beckerhead T from JD, but that pic came out like crap. In the glass: Bell's Brewing Maillards Odyssey from Michigan. Also had an Oxbow Farmhouse Ale (Maine) and a Oskar Blues Canfusion Rye Bock (North Carolina), as well as some Belgian Fries. On the way out, they handed my friend an me each a loaf of bread (it is a bakery, after all - end of the day throwaways) so all in all, a pretty good evening.

Spent some time before we left trying to get this mess in order; trimmed and split a whole bunch of this on Sunday.

some of it was durn near impossible to split:

and some of it is actually impossible to split. Sugar Maple, came down last year in a microburst - pretty and smells good, but some of it is just incredibly twisted and won't ever split.

Lousy selfie of me with my BH shirt at the Pigs Fly Bakery (with beer!) in Kittery, Maine. Todd, I think maybe I need a T.M. Hunt shirt. Should also probably buy a knife to go with.

Ditto, although the shirt will probably come first.

So I have the slap strap pros for my hammock and one of the loops ripped off, so I'm think of just gutting the rest of them off and using the main price of webbing to make my own straps, anyone ever done this?

Atlas straps for the win :D

I thought about getting a set to replace my slap straps but I don't want to spend $30 if what I have will work, but we wil see

Granite, have been to Kittery a few times. Nice place. My first time to see the ocean was at Kittery. My second time too, haha. My only times seeing the ocean. We ate at Chauncey's Lobster Pier. Good stuff.

I understand that COMPLETELY!! I use stuff till it falls apart and then still try and repurpose it LMAO

If what you have will work id keep using it :D

yeah... that's the stuff you put on a bandsaw and cut into slabs for making knife handles... don't ruin it all with your maul. :-)

 thats a great plan there!!

Although if it were me.... Id keep trying to split it LMAO... hard headed.

I bet with that mini hatchet i could split it down the middle in a single swing :D

The county cut down every tree along the creek at my father's house (to make the ditch deeper and wider-bastids- at least the dumbasses didnt think about how the roots prevent erosion and now they have to keep coming back to fix it on their dime)-there was mostly boxelder, cottonwood, poplar and mulberry (which is an amazingly hard wood that people consider to be junk...burns as well as oak)..there was a small walnut or two and one huge maple. I was looking through some of the maple and it seems most of the tree has a beautiful curly grain pattern...hes saving me quite a bit of it....he may have lost his privacy but he got about 15 full cords out of it
