I wasn't sure, you've made heart knives for people other than me! I didn't want to assume, that's how people end up owing you a 4-pack of Sun King!

Lousy selfie of me with my BH shirt at the Pigs Fly Bakery (with beer!) in Kittery, Maine. Todd, I think maybe I need a T.M. Hunt shirt. Should also probably buy a knife to go with it
I wanna know how you take a lousy selfie, of someone BESIDES you... :-P

Thats a stunning blade, CBear

I really need to pick give hammocks a try....I bet my back would love me for it.

Sweet blade Cbear!!

OFM4 go for it bud!! I love my hammock. I sleep better in it than a bed. I dont sleep much either way but when i do sleep i much prefer the hammock. Now we dont have any fancy pillow top mattresses or anything like that... I have felt some mattresses that may be more comfortable sleeping on than a hammock... But you wont get those mattresses for anywhere close to the price of a hammock LOL

Hammock + Fan = very comfortable.

Ill be hopping in mine and throwing a movie on in the next hour or 2!!

My current camp bed is pretty comfortable. I'd say its close to the comfort of my bed at home (and we have one of those fancy pillow top mattresses:D). My camp bed goes with me wherever we go out of town. Whether at the lake, a hotel or visiting family, if Im not in my bed at home I'm in my camp bed. Its an Alps Mountaineering Comfort XXL (77"x30" iirc) and a 1.5" twin sized memory foam pad to go over it...its amazing. The only problem is that its not backpack friendly:D

I just looked up that comfort pad and it looks sweet! I dont sleep enough to think of spending that much personally for me, but ill be showing it to the wife!!

Smaller and more convenient than the air mattress she brings car camping now. Id bet more comfortable too. Hmmm maybe i should not tell her about it and make it a xmas gift LOL

Like I said, I use it alot....enough to justify spending that much on it. Last year my boys were really sick for about a month and I slept in their room with them to keep an eye on them. That pad fit perfectly between their beds. The bag it comes in has plenty of room for both the mattress and and a memory foam pad if you really put forth the effort to roll it up tightly. ;) and I store it inflated with the valves open.

Granite, have been to Kittery a few times. Nice place. My first time to see the ocean was at Kittery. My second time too, haha. My only times seeing the ocean. We ate at Chauncey's Lobster Pier. Good stuff.

Been by Chauncey Creek a lot; never ate there.

yeah... that's the stuff you put on a bandsaw and cut into slabs for making knife handles... don't ruin it all with your maul. :-)

I've not mauled all of it yet. Lots of spalting and curl (as well as a fair bit of plain old rot), there's plenty of it left to save...although at this point, I'd rather use the really nice wood I've already paid for.

Looks like a great pad and has stellar reviews... Sounds like its worth the price.

I love my hammock though, if you do end up giving one a try let us know how it compares to those fancy mattresses :D

Night Granite.

I am up at work and I would LOVE to have my hammock with me and set up! Definitely would be for the win, however they kind of frown on sleeping while supposed to be working so that probably wouldn't work...

So far I know/have seen 4 out of the 5 knives that are coming to me...

you lucky bastid, that's gorgeous.

It'll be a year before you can use it anyway. Plenty of time to get through that other stuff!

See, Daizee, I'm not just your secondary market, I got pretty pretty shiny from other makers too!

I can't wait to handle that yuma, it just.... yeah, I told Todd I was expecting "smexy" I wasn't expecting "playboy level"!

I'm gonna need to get a photo of the whole family when I get my new ones.

Natural light is so much nicer than bulbs.

Depends on the bulbs :D

I still prefer natural light whenever possible, but I got some bulbs that will rival even the sunniest of days.

This was taken in my dark basement under just a regular CFL house bulb

There is an exception to every rule. But the majority of the time, sun>bulbs. Those grow lights are damned nice though!

MMMMMM..... Sun King.

Ok. I might have to stop by the brewery tomorrow to fill a few growlers.

yea bud i was just messing with ya, i know everyone doesnt have grow lights LOL, everyone SHOULD... But thats another topic entirely :D

Like i said i still prefer natural light whenever possible, mostly because i prefer being outdoors, but good bulbs do a great job of mimicking the sun. All bulbs are not created equal either. That goes for house bulbs and grow bulbs. I went through MANY bulbs before finding the perfect ones for me. I no longer grow indoors and havent for years.. So I sold most my lights when i first got into knives... But i kept one set just in case!!

It's all about the frequency spectrum. Printers and graphic artists sometimes use lightboxes with all different kinds of bulbs, to check how inks and papers look under different conditions. Proofs that look great under near-perfect conditions may look awful under typical office fluorescents, and vice versa.

Colors and clarity look best to our eyes in natural sunlight simply because that's what they evolved to see best in. The better grow-lights reproduce that full spectrum pretty well, so it makes sense a person can take good pictures under them. I generally have the best luck with knife pics outdoors, but on a slightly overcast day to cut glare and shadows.

Here's a homemade lightbox tutorial that's highly regarded for amateur photographers who want to take good pics of their knives; it was written by BFC member (and world-class professional photographer) Sharp by Coop.

Thus concludes pretty much everything I know about photography... :p
