So my promotional period ran out for my internet cable package. I got in on the promotion for 69 dollars for the fastest internet they had, plus basic cable, HBO, on demand, streampix and whaever else came with it....

But since the promotion was over the bill went over 100 bucks a month... SO i called them up to cancel the cable. We still have netflix, hulu, Prime.. And internet gives you any show or movie you want to watch anyways...

Soon as i told them i wanted to cancel the cable they asked why and i said because its too expensive now that the promotion is over... Instead of cancelling the cable they renewed the promotional period for me for a full YEAR!! And credited my account to cover the difference of this bill.....

I call that excellent customer service :D

We did the same thing with our provider. For 4 years we have had a promotional rate in 2 different houses.

Its pretty cool. Its a BIG beefy folder, so really in my opinion its more of a novelty type blade... Just because of its size and weight.

I honestly dont use a folder on wood or in the woods... I only really use a folder for stuff around the house... And for stuff like that the spartan is too big. But i have used it playing around in my basement splitting smaller wood, making feather sticks and stuff like that and it does work well.

And since i got the little Brous SS ranger its honestly been the main knife i grab for everything i need around the house.. Love that little knife more everyday. I was worried about trading my Bone Collector folder for it.. But it ended up working out great.

Im much much more into fixed blades... I keep trying to get into folders but even when i get a good one and i really like it, i still like a good fixed blade much more.
 
I'm the same way, I'm actually gonna be getting rid of my folders I think. There are two I won't get rid of, one is a kershaw gift from AIG, the other is a Spyderco Police model 1 plain edge... beautiful thing!

comcast xfinity. Had some service issues several days back but it was for the entire area and they did end up getting it fixed, so it seems anyways.. But other than the the few days when service kept going out i have had no issues with the package deal.

We have the "blast" internet, and its plenty quick. Streaming and downloading is no problem. Even at the same time. Back when i use to have "clear" internet i would have to let a movie stream for a little while before i could start watching it. Otherwise it kept stopping to stream more... Now i can have several shows or movies streaming at the same time while one is playing and have a CD downloading, while surfing the web with 6 pages open.... And i do it all the time LMAO

Its funny we have had this package for a while, we started with just internet, not the blast service either..... But then after the promotion ran out for the internet i went to cancel it because i seen a cable/internet deal for just a little more than we would be paying for the internet alone after the first promotion.....I called, told them why i was cancelling and they upgraded me to blast internet and added cable with HBO for free and my bill went up just a couple dollars from the basic internet to blast with cable and HBO.. That was suppose to go for 6 months, that just ended, and now they gave us another year... These companies dont like to let you take any services off LOL

Yea im the same way, i dont get rid of gifts, and i also NEVER sell/trade anything someone hand makes specifically for me. Like the customs Crimson made me, the chopper Giedymin made me, the mini hatchet Todd is making me... Anything someone hand makes specifically for me i keep.

That's just what they want you to think, like you're getting something special because they're your friend. For various reasons we don't have time to go into here, cable/TV/phone etc is one of the crookedest games going these days and it's only getting worse.

Would they really give "promo intro deals" to thousands or millions of people if they were losing money on them? Nope. They just know there's very little if any competition to worry about, and that most people are too lazy/dumb to bother re-negotiating when the "deal" runs out and will just write a bigger check each month. So they get even more profit.

I hate bickering and bargaining over stuff, but unfortunately you have to do it when dealing with big corporations these days, or you're just going to get screwed twice. In any case it certainly never hurts to ask. If one jerk says "no" just hang up, wait 5 minutes, call back and ask someone else.

Now when it comes to little guys like say, I dunno... knifemakers... don't bother. Their margins are usually so tight already that lowballing or dickering is just going to piss them off. :D
 
Hey guys, if anybody is looking for kryptek pattern kydex, it will be available at knifekits today 4pm eastern standard time.. I just got a calland iits first come first served.

Yea.. Im no dummy LOL, i told my wife the same thing... They are still making a profit, they charge way more than they should just so they can make these types of deals to the people willing to negotiate or take their business elsewhere

Thanks for the heads up, they been pushing the date back on that stuff since June that i know of, even though other places have had it in stock. Now it says begins shipping Sept 15th...

I wanted my swamp rat brotherhood blade sheathed with the mandrake, but they kept changing the dates, i finally ended up picking a regular color the sheath maker had in stock just a little more than a week ago, not sure if he started on it yet though.

Im still going to want a mandrake sheath for it one day, those colors match that knife perfectly.... but i just couldnt wait any longer hoping KK finally got it in stock. The sheath maker has had my brotherhood blade for 3 months now, not his fault, but i only had it for 2 days before shipping to him... Im ready for it back so i picked a new material.

or...just not have TV service. And/or change to a local internet only provider. No law says you have to watch TV.
Of course, you can pry the internet from my cold dead fingers before I'll give that up.

I used to work with bicycles, which are also pretty low margin items, and anyone who ever asked my boss if he "could do better" on the price was greeted quite calmly with "sure, how about ($100 dollars more than the sticker)?" He always explained that it was a much better price - for him. Followed by "Will that be cash or check? We don't take credit cards." That was a pretty good job, even if the pay wasn't enough to live on.

:D I carry it around the house and use it for gardening mostly hehe. It goes through stems nicely. I agree it is a little big and novelty-ish for an edc blade, but CS mostly markets their blades for fencing or fighting. In that regard it would do a fine job.

One of my cousins wants to buy it off me. If the teenybopper gets the cash its his lol.
