Was awakened from a very sound sleep last night by a noise in the house like someone walking in the hall. Felt for wife in bed...check. Grabbed the flashlight from the nightstand and (still groggy) slipped down the hall and bumped into the guest bedroom door. I threw open the door (simultaneously feeling for the switch on the flashlight, which I keep set on "strobe") and my mother in law (whom I had forgotten was spending the night) clicked on her light to see me standing in my underwear holding out a 3.4 oz. bottle of PJUR lube.

"No thanks, I'm good."

Made for an awkward breakfast, but it wasn't mentioned.

course, could've gone sideways real fast :S

Come on over. You wont even have to move. I got a remote, you can lay in the hammock and use a remote control to operate the unit. Either have a hookah type tube ran to you in the hammock, or fill balloons and enjoy while you swing, or you could use the smaller unit and sip in style :D

My knees and hands get stiff when the weather goes to crap.

KIDS.. Take care of your bodies. You only get 1. That being said... Live life too, you only get one of those as well!!

Why don't you live closer? sheesh!

I popped some ibuprofen and got to work today. My younger brother inlaw came over and we raised a barn (pre-fab shed) in my back yard. The box said it would take two people 8 hours to put it together, I already had my base done, so as soon as he came over we got to it and knocked it out of the park in 4.5h (with stopping for 30min for lunch).

Now that I'm all done... I could now use a hammock and a vape :D time for a trip to the garage.

It's been said that there's a sucker born every minute. Well, there's more ignorant ones than suckers. It's not our job to educate them before we buy it from them.

oh, i should probably tell you that i've got 100 just like that, which is sell for $75 a go under different aliases.

i've mostly been able to polish off the "made in china" under the hilt. mostly :D

I believe I like the looks of that one. I wonder how much they will be selling for.

MSRP was about $1000 I think. So ~$850ish maybe? I just got a S&W 625 back in February, nice gun but .45 acp is a bit light for woods carry. If I hadn't sold my Blackhawk I would be very excited for this gun. Not sure if I'll actually get one but I still like it.

Finally got my Parangatang. Box looked it had been dragged behind the truck for the entire western US trip. Blade itself was fine, however I really don't care for the handle. Not sure if I'll even test it out, might just sell it and the 710 sheath. Shame too because otherwise it's a very nice piece, light and balanced. Probably cuts like a demon too.

I'll tell ya what bighoss, you can just go ahead and send that blade To me and then you won't have to mess with selling it to someone

if you have access to a belt sander and a bucket of water, you can "fix" the handle without damaging the temper.

You're right. If I did, I could. But I won't because I don't.

Im not a fan of the handle, especially in use, either. Taking a few slices of cardboard or even a couple chops isnt so bad... But when you get to really going with it, chopping wood up.... it just gets worse and worse in use (completely my opinion)... That being said it does cut excellently. They did a great job on the blade... But man the handle..... Shame. Hurts my hand pretty good/bad.

I however DO have a belt sander and a bucket of water... Only reason i havent ground down that hilt is because i dont wanna ruin the ironwood handles i had made for them. I have OVER double the amount invested in the handles and sheath than what i paid for the blade, more than 200 all in.... And i have used it... Id never get anywhere close to what i have in it so i will likely keep mine for light use.

Maybe when i get moved ill grind the hilt down and make me some new wood handles for it.... Maybe. I could also ask my father to help out with that... He does great work with wood... But then id have those extra scales... Conundrum indeed.

I can't wait to get to play with one. :D

The fruits of my day's labor today:

Good day

I've been prank calling the Pakistani IRS impersonators on and off all day. Did everything from as him if he could smell what The Rock was cooking, to telling him I couldn't get any money to pay what I owed due to having an expensive hemorrhoid transplant but I could send him 3 pigs and a chicken, to screaming in an extremely high pitched voice to hurt his ears.

This makes me smile. If I ever get any calls like your fake IRS people, I'm sending you their number.

This! It must be nice to have the time, Nos....I only get the automated calls telling me about legal action - like, 5 times a day. Oh, and Rachel from "Card Services" keeps calling, too. If the NSA is doing such a great job tapping all our phone lines, how am I still getting all these calls? I know they're being made by terrorists....economic terrorists, anyway...

I keep missing posts. Busy as hell lately trying to get things thrown out, given away, packed up, cleaned up, general repairs and paint touch ups (to try and get the full $2000 deposit back, doubt that'll happen though )... Just a lot going on. If i miss anyone's replies i promise its not intentional. I try and go back and check here and there when i can.

Well, let me put it this way... my current shop is roughly 18x30, with a second room for leather stuff that's about 10 x 15, and I wish I had more space :D But honestly 12 x 16 should be fine for dirty work (grinding drilling etc.) A smaller space is also easier to keep brightly-lit and heated/cooled.

The general rule of thumb is, the bigger the space you have, the more it will fill up with junk. No matter how big a shed/shop you build, the hard part will be keeping Xmas decorations, lawn/garden stuff, and other miscellaneous crap out of it.

I'm sure we could work something out ;)

18X30.. Thats like the size of my basement, well its 13X40, close to same square footage though.... which is HUGE in my opinion..... But like you said about the shop.... 99% of the basement was used for storage... And exercise equipment and stuff... But i got 4X12 out of 13X40.... Yea that seems fair

But i do know what you mean. Id love bigger.. But later on i could always get another shed when i can afford to do so. My father has 3 as workshops because he kept running out of space. Also has another strictly storage shed, and my grandfather has a shop/shed on their property as well.. 5 that i know about. I asked him about it a while back and he said he'd personally prefer the 3 separate shops to one huge one.. Says keeps saw dust away from his finishing work and stuff like that. Makes sense. But is likely more expensive in the long run.... Yet its not hitting you all at once so its a trade off i guess.

This is whats there now... Well its empty now because the people moved out hehe, but this is the little wood shed they had. Seen better days im told. But could be used for extra storage with a little effort im sure.

Conundrum solved. Send them to me so I can put them on my ZK Tanto. They would look da bizniss!

I'll tell ya what... as long as the pole you are chained to is in the USA, IF (only if) i do happen to switch scales ill gift you these... But my memory isnt great all the time.. luckily i post a lot though... so if i was changing them out id post about it... if i forget by then and you see the post remind me....

If you really want to do it, bring it to my place. We can polish it up and make it look good too. Not just hacked off.

Id love to brother, maybe a quick bevel grinding lesson and then show me where some good shops are too...Or just take me to town and ill figure it out HAHA.... Man i wish i was in Hoss place come Friday :D

I've been prank calling the Pakistani IRS all day. .

If we dont here from you in the next few days we'll know why :)

Picked up a Ken Onion Worksharp with the blade grinding attachment while at Blade. Been putting that sucker to work! Just finished having a little bit of fun with a BK-11

Laying over another 11 so you can see the changes.

I see why people like doing this!

ETA: added a roughly 21 degree convex edge to it as well... DANG it's sharp now!

A very tempting offer. I'd like to take the thumb ramps off my 10 and 7 too and make a couple other little tweaks to them. I got a couple friends up in the Denver area, maybe I'll make a weekend adventure of it.

Haha its all good brother! I was only being a smart arse. Besides, I probably couldn't be further away from you. I'm on the other side of the lake in the colonies: Straya (Australia). Can't blame you for missing posts and forgetting things mate, you've got a lot on your plate. I wish you all the best with the packing and moving bud, I know it's a prick of a thing moving. Especially when you're doing it on the scale you are. Wow. PA to FL. That's epic dude. Rock on Peanut Butter King!
