I have been wanting to get one of these for a while now! Basically since the first time I seen it I been wanting one.

I got my brother in law the MSR one for his birthday. Hes one of those people who cant function without coffee.

Not sure what the world is coming to.

After dropping the kids off i walked a different way home because i needed to stop by a store, outside the store were a couple officers talking to a man and writing a statement. I go in the store and ask one of the guys loitering inside what was going on, apparently the man went in the store about half hour before i got there, bought a pack of cigarettes and payed with a 10, got 2 dollars change, walked outside before putting the change and cigarettes in his pockets and got robbed at gunpoint for his pack of cigarettes and 2 bucks.

Sad as hell when people risk going to prison for a grand total of 10 bucks.

The forum is killing me lately. I have had more double post in the last few days than i have the entire time i been a member here.

A couple post no matter how many times i tried to send them they wouldnt go through to the point i just gave up.

Hey man, sometimes you really need a smoke! :D

You're right of course. In my college years I worked nights in a convenience store in a small town. Every few months other gas stations around town would get robbed. The one only a couple blocks away seemed to get hit the most often. Really, yer gonna do 5-10 years in prison for a couple hundred bucks? (any sane clerk puts extra cash in the drop-safe as soon as the till gets over a certain amount).

The one I worked at was popular with local cops and sherrif's deputies; we'd give 'em free coffee and just be friendly to 'em in general. So you never knew when one might roll in. Guess which gas station never got robbed? ;)

You picked the good one to work at!!

Funny thing people in the store were blaming the recent increase in cigarette prices, its like the fact people are walking around robbing people at gunpoint isnt the real issue... the cost of cigarettes is the real problem. I just rolled my eyes, grabbed my loaf of bread and held it like a running back 5 yards from the end zone with an entire team behind me all the way home LMAO

Am I reading this right? A pack of smokes cost $8. bucks?

The cheapest packs cost 8 bucks at that. Newports are 10 bucks at most stores around here now.

The 1st of this month ALL cigarettes went up 2 dollars more per pack!! Its a new tax they added on.

Hell in NY its worse. The minimum by law is 10.50 there last i heard. And Normal brands like camel, Marlboro, and Newports are 13-14 dollars each pack. They also upped the minimum age to buy them to 21 years old if im remembering right.

When i started smoking newports were 2.50 a pack. Im only 30. the increases have been insane.

I want/need to quit. Im slowing down now, making myself wait an hour after i wake instead of lighting one up first thing, and waiting 30 minutes after meals when i need one most.. When i get use to that ill increase the times.

So, I know I'm not one to talk, since I'm already called a "fanboi" I'm sure. I really want a Blackberry Passport though.

Well, more "great news" (yeah right). Just learned that one of my nephews (the 15 y.o. 6 ft +one in Houston) broke BOTH arms when he fell on a trampoline being used in diving class (stayed on the trampoline, not off of it). While working on doing rotations, he over-rotated and came down almost head first. He put his arms out to brace himself and crack. Dislocated both elbows, one arm is broken above and below the elbow, the other arm broken above the elbow in 5 places. The paramedics had to crawl out on the trampoline to package him up and every time they moved, the trampoline transferred movement to my nephew who felt every bounce. Surgery successfully put him back together, but no lifting ANYTHING for at least 6 weeks. DUH, both arms in casts wrist to shoulder.

When my family does something, we make sure and do it well.

Good googily moogily! Dislocated elbow=Not the end of the world, however the broken in 5 places!!!!! Glad the surgery was successful! Smoke and prayers to the boy!

Sorry to hear about the nephew's elbows... that sounds awful :(

Smokes would be a whole lot cheaper if it wasn't for all the taxes to pay for the commercials telling you not to smoke

In other news, Ka-Bar just announced a fun contest on FB... https://www.facebook.com/KABARKNIVE...90159.195306703820230/970295542988005/?type=1

All this talk of convenience stores reminded me of a story.

My dad used to be a cop and he told me one time while buying coffee in uniform a guy came in and robbed the place. My dad was standing right next to the guy when he pulled a knife or something and demanded the money. So my dad drew his .357 S&W (that's how long ago it was) and was like "How dumb are you? I'm standing right here!"

Dex, where do you get the Boudain from? Also do they ship? I got a hankering that needs satiating.

Also GSO, where did those sausages come from? Also got a hankering...

I've broken lots of bones and had many other injuries in my life, but the dislocated elbow I had was one of the most painful injuries I've had. I'd say the second worse injury over all my broken bones. But then I've never broken anything bad enough to require surgery. Recovery time was right around the same time as broken bones too.

dang...15 y.o. and both arms in casts for 6 weeks...no porn for you, young man!

First time I dislocated my elbow it was a shockingly painful experience. After that though I have been able to reset it myself relatively painlessly. Bending my knee sideways so my ankle hit my hip, way worse.

Cool guys! First post with tech other than a computer! Now don't be surprised if my grammar goes down the toilet.

Good grief, I almost forgot... Happy Thirstday everyone!

I'm guessing drugs were a factor... you never know though, some people just really are that dumb.
