I thought about it, yes. But the length is still too short.Have you tried adding a liner? Moose had one on his 16 that I got to play with and it made a HUGE difference.

See how short it is for my hand. Where the arrow is, it's just as uncomfortable as hell.Add a lanyard, with a braid to where the 4th finger goes, then add a slip knot.
Yes I could. I realize that would take some of the circumference problems from the front, but it still just seems too thin to me, top to bottom. How do they fit your hands? Your hands are a lot bigger than mine. I think I'm just going to sell them. Or trade perhaps.
Haha.Ape hands. Nothing you can do about it either.
That little protrusion would still be there though.Micarta made to come all the way down and cover the lanyard hole should fill the hand alot better for you Dubs
1/2" longer would have been great. That's actually not a bad idea there....hmmm...I actually like them a lot - but can see where you're coming from. (if the handles were 1/2" longer I would be a very happy camper)
I was thinking you could make a set of scales that wraps around the front -- still an exposed spine, but covering the belly of the handle to make it more "hand filling".
Haha, love the sheath. But do you like the sheath dubz? That should be the real question...."love the sheath but the blade sucks". Haha...

I was initially going to sand that protrusion down a bit, like so. But that still wouldn't have solved the thin front. 1066vik has a good idea though.

Another problem I have, is that I have crooked pinky's, no shit. That's exactly what I was going to do, grind the hump off, and extend it a bit. I may just get rid of the damn things. I owe my son a 16, just give him my FPR. Shouldn't have any problems getting rid of the 17.yup - looking at the picture of you holding the knife, our hands are similar in width, but you have longer fingers -- changes where that bump hits on the pinky.
if you sand off the bump, that gives more room for the new scales to fill in and extend back -- especially if you square the tang off when you sand it down.
BTW tradewater, that kayaking day looks like a blast.
