good point, i don't usually think about it because where i hunt, you're not going to be able to shoot further than 70 yards without hitting a tree :D

as for the 45-70, i've been looking at the H&R Buffalo Classic

I have just a plain synthetic handi in .45-70 and it's a good shooter. Sure is fun seeing those big boolits smash into stuff too.

Thinking about getting something like this for the cabin one of these days:

Dubz, that is pretty awesome, I'd say that is pretty good for the cabin. Does it break down flat(ish)? Cause that would be perfect for storing it when you aren't there so you don't have to haul it back and forth.

I used something like that with the scout group at church. Big and versatile so it can handle a lot and as long as you're not lugging it around, they are pretty nice.

Look at the camp chef explorer 2 as well, you can also get a large gridle that covers the whole thing. Our scout troop has two of them that we always use

I'd like a BK-15. some clip-point lover wanna help me out on the WTT exchange?

I only have the one 15, and I ain't giving it up... But I am thinking of stripping and thinning it a bit... I need a couple new belts for my grinder though.

I just discovered 6 FEET of .100"x1.5" 154CM in my stash which I must have intended for kitchen knives.

Ya know CBear... there is a technically 'used' Daizee knife up on the exchange right now. ;)

If this was the 9th, that would be on it's way here... The 8th is pay day and I can't buy any more steel this month.

Looks like it adjusts up and down, but doesn't look like the legs fold. Not sure really. I have a shed to keep it in though, so not a huge deal.

Not sure how I feel about this. For years, I believed propane if from the devil!! I've always felt that proper grilling had to involve the use of a dead tree... Growing up, we always used oak logs cut into sections with a two-man saw by yours truly and his oldest younger brother. Never actually used charcoal until I went of to college. I do confess that I've used the propane grill here at the hotel to grill and it is convenient. It just isn't as satisfying (or tasty) as using whole logs or charcoal. I realize that Hank Hill would disagree with me....

for those of us usually forced to cook on an electric stove, propane is a HUGE step in the right direction...

I believe the one I used is very similar or just like it and the legs come out of those adjusting clamps. If it doesnt come with it, there is also a large griddle attachment that fits on there.

I was watching a program on the food network once, all about Weber grills. They were focused on a Weber restaurant, which had all sorts of grills. According to Weber, it's not the charcoal that gives it flavor, but the grease dripping onto the hot coals, producing smoke that does. Makes sense to me actually, as a propane grill has the same basic flavor. Now, I know wood smoke produces flavor when smoking foods, but that's over longer periods of time.
