Haha - You're just jumping to conclusions.Who?![]()
This guy gets it.I see no bad ideas here.
Yes, but then everyone's going to want one. Then you have a big blank climbing wall that cost next to zero....and a shit ton of licensing fees and regulatory agencies breathing down your neck, not to mention the astronomical cost of keeping radioactive arachnids. Stick with the holds, Gus. Superpowers always look good on paper....until you start reading the fine print with your newly acquired x-ray vision, and find out just permit fees alone kill any chance of funding college for your super baby.If I'm not mistaken, it has to be a radioactive spider for this to work. That might cost more...just like jimping and other magic.

Took a quick jaunt over to Cade's Cove yesterday evening. Saw a hawk, 2 black bears, 5 turkeys, 9 deer, lots of butterflies and a whole boatload of wild horses. None of those (cell phone) pics came out worth a hoot, but this one's OK.

Gus climbing must be pretty easy with so much to grab on to. snark
Whoo Hoo! New knife day. Cold Steel Master Hunter in 3V. The fit and finish on this blade is real nice, and the knife is ground really well. Full flat with a nice thin really sharp edge with a fantastic amount of distal taper and A LOT of belly. Reminds me a lot of the BK16. Pretty excited, we will see how I like it as time goes on, So far though I think its a winner.
Lots of distal taper and the handle is actually very comfy for being "plainer". Little bit of palm swell there...
Comparison with a few other blades...
Pretty happy!
Thanks for the pic and the memories! I have an aunt in Knoxville, and grew up driving out to the mountains and Cade's Cove when we would visit. Gorgeous place. I haven't been through in quite a few years.

They are rubbery Kraton. Its nice, Cold steels Kraton (they call kray-ex) is a little "stickier" than KA-BAR's for example but I've never had an issue with it and have a couple blades with it. Gives a very positive comfy grip. I like rubber grips though, cushions your hand in hard pressure cuts etc etc. Plus this is about the cheapest route to getting a 3v blade out there right now.Looks good. Ive like the design, but never the steel. I might have to try one now that the make one in 3v. Are the handles hard plastic or kinda rubbery?
Oh yah! This things begging to get used.Looks nice,
Time to smack the new off of it![]()
Very cool. Do you have any pics of the wall?
Awesome! I'm digging it. Apparently they styled this one after the original Master Hunter in Carbon V, as opposed to their more recent San Mai model which was a different. It lacked taper, had less belly, thicker grind. This thing is thin and light. From the same afternoon/vantage point...

My old raggedy beat-up Camillus-era MH in CarbonV is still one of my favorite production knives ever, (along with my BK-16 of course). I don't see how you could go wrong with one in 3V (my favorite steel overall, if I had to pick only one). [emoji106]
