Birthday coming up. Wife bought me a new Potensic Atom drone with fly more package. Can't wait to use it. 4k video up to 30fps, 2.7k up to 30fps, and 1080p up to 60 fps. Video is crystal clear. GPS, sub 250g (no registering), 3 axis gimbal, 12mp camera, Sony sensor, Return to home feature, etc. Really looking forward to it. I have a small drone I fly around the house, so I do have a little experience.

That sounds like a lot of fun!

I have a client that brought a drone to the farm for a project with UC Davis.

It was pretty big, and with all the gear was about 40 grand.

On its first flight they mistakenly landed it in the silty soft dirt we have and it promptly destroyed several parts!

Once they got it figured out it was pretty incredible to see it fly, along with the data it captured on its flight patterns.
 
Spent the afternoon yesterday running concertina along a perimeter iron and chain link fence. Almost got all of it run before time ran out. It's had to be done in a few stages though.
My hands sting now from all the snags. Gloves were impossible to work in with any dexterity.

The 'new guy' showed up Friday. 'Oaklawn Blacksmith', 45 pound, double horned, H13 tool steel, hardened to 55 Rockwell.

As yet, I have done nothing with it, like edge dressing, stand making...

I'm currently revisiting the brake drum forge I began years ago, now with replacement blower. To be continued, hopefully! 😎
