The knife is designed by Darrel Ralph (Never heard of this guy :) ) and will be in the Cuda line up.
Here is the first pics of what the new Arc Lite will look like! It will sport a nearly 3" blade and Kydex neck sheath. The blade will be made of 420HC Stainless.

These should hit the streets around December 1st and at about $20!

For a while, the Stiff KISS was probably the undisputed king of the inexpensive neck knives. Looks like CRKT has some serious competition coming from Camillus. Similar sheath and blade material. This could possibly take away business from people who were looking at the Stiff KISS MDP.

A neck knife I can afford! Finally I can loose the Bushman with dental floss cord and pick up one of these for daily carry

What can anyone tell me about 420HC Stainless? Is that the same as the 420J2 that everyone seems to hate? How does 420HC Stainless compare to AUS6M or ATS-34 or other steels that I might be more likely to have heard of? TIA.

Nice lookin' knife.

Mike,
The blade lenght is 3.25". THanks for posting the pic buddy!

Medusa,
420HC compares very closely to AUS6M. About .5 % carbon. 12-14% chrome. 1%Mg. .5% Silicon. .2% Vanadium.
Good stuff....holds and edge reasonably well, very rust resistant, relativley easy to sharpen. And for production considerations....'blanks' well, thus the low cost after investing in expensive tooling.

Thanks for the interest!

MIKE, WHEN ARE YOU GONNA ORGANIZE A BLADE FORUMS KNIFE SHOW FOR US???????????????????????????????????

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Mike - thanks for posting the pic. I've never heard of that guy either, must be a new maker :P

I love it. One of the best selling features of this knife is the price. Much more useful and better looking than the CRKT Stiff KISSes IMHO.

Thanks guys.
We got together and designed this knife to be ergo.. Small knives are the hardest to hold in your hand and make feel and work right. Camillus has just one thing in mind when it comes to knives. The first step is they have to work and work right. Function is first. Then we add the features.
The grooves add grip to the handle (not just for looks).
The sheath hole spacing is set up for the mini tech lock for those who want to carry it on your belt or in other places. Just buy a mini tech lock and it fits right up. This is also a great rig knife for under the arm carry. Rigs are fast becoming a mainstay for me. Lots of folder and kneck knife combos for folks who want to carry the folders or straight knives under the arm.
We thought this one out..
The 420hc is great production steel. I have tested it in my shop on the protos. Takes a wicked edge and holds it.
Now to get the handled version as a parasite for the BKT knives??????????
Enjoy!!

Mike,
Can you tell us what this "mini tech" that Darrel speaks of is ? Do you carry it ? Are you selling it as a combo ?

Nice knife - should give the KISS a run for it's money.

Mike - who took the photo?

420HC is decent steel that is about the same quality as 440A or AUS-6. It is a step ahead of 420J2 (crap). Buck Knives generally uses 420HC, and I've never had any problems with it. I don't mind sharpening more frequently.

RH,
The Mini Tek-Lok is a belt/webbing attachment device that allows for a multitude of carry oprions. It will fit the rivit hole spacing on the Kydex sheath of the ArcLite. The Mini Tek Lok is made by BladeTech and availible through them...maybe 1SKS[Mike Turber] will carry some for the customers here to get from him?

Redbeard,
The original photo was shot by Terril Hoffman. I sent Mike the digital pic, and he played with the background....looks kewl doesn't it?!

Comrade Chang,
Always good to hear from you! You are dead on correct with your 420HC observation.

Thanks for the interest guys.....we will keep you posted as we near the release date.
