The second wave of snow hit on Sunday evening and didn't let up until later Monday afternoon. I was out and about when it started to snow, when I finally decided that it was getting bad enough to head home a few inches of snow had already accumulated on the highway. When I finally made home, it was almost white out conditions making it very hard to see the road. Monday night with the wind chill it was about -50 out. It was neat to see all the statuses on Facebook of people taking cups of boiling water and throwing it into the air. For anyone who hasn't heard about this, the boiling water freezes almost instantly when you toss it from a cup or pot. It's actually pretty cool. Level 3 snow emergencies were issued Sunday night and weren't removed from the area until late last night. I made quality time with my tv and Netflix, but being stuck in the house was driving me crazy. I cannot sit still for that long. I'm glad that the weather didn't get much worse and I was able to get out today. How did everyone else fare in this crazy winter storm that the Midwest was caught in? I hope everyone stayed safe and warm.
