So, how many pushups can you do?

I have the swiveling perfect pushup handles and do 3 sets of 20 three or four times a week with 5 or 10 minutes of basic exercises with a couple of 25lb dumbbells.

About 25% of what I used to do in my 20's and early 30's, now 41 and in fairly good shape, not sparring fit anymore unfortunately with a bad knee and shoulder but I try.
In karate the warmup before class we used to have to crank out 50 on our knuckles, stretch then 5 sets of 10 in horribly painful hand positions. Doing pushups on the backs of your wrists was not my favourite!

without the handles I can do 45(today) properly, struggling the last 8 or so, been awhile since I could do 50 fast ones nose to the floor.

i've been doing what they call "hindu pushups", which is a little different than diver bomber pushups, if you know those. old school wrestling exercise... a bit of yoga's downward dog combined with pushups, and crawling under fences.

related: hindu squats, a more flowing way to do body weight squats

check it, there's youtube videos on this stuff.

while you're at it, check out "turkish getup" :)

just a few years ago, we'd do pyramid or ladders for pushups, typically about 55 per round (10, 9, 8, ...) but we'd do multiple sets in the class. now? i have no idea... but i weight less, and should give it go. i know 30 are trivial but how many til i die? we shall see...

The most I have done without rest is 300ish.

I have some friends (Kuke is one of them, he's a Bladeforums member) that can vouch for me that I did do 300ish.

:D

I just did 40, Im 5'6 120 lbs. I probably could have done more but just got home from a bike ride.

I wish I knew. Every time I try to go for as many in a row as possible, my son decides to plop his 45lbs on my shoulders. That severely cuts down on how many I can do.

Knew a guy that had your biuld in the army..Drill sargeant Shimo....guy was SCARY doing pushups..was on the US army pushup team.

27 Marine Corps pushups...
I can't count them normally, I end up reverting and confusing myself so I don't bother..
That was after tossing my son around for a few.. Im pretty out of shape though. Two kids, a knee surgery, and unemployment don't help one bit to keep ones physique tiptop...

I typically do 5 sets of 25 as my warmup for chest day. Next week I'm elevating my feet.

I only do one. I figure anything more than that is bragging. :D

I can do 60, but I'm not gonna. only do 'em in the morning. :D
Not sure how great my form is, but I worked up from 30. Usually I do a coupl sets of 50.

Man, I'm weak as shit compared to you guys. I tap out at 15. I'm 6'4 and like 155lbs. I'm trying to build up my strength though. I do my 15 everymorning, and when I work out, its pushups, pullups, planks, mcGill curl-ups, squats and rows. And some dumbbell exercises...

Shit I am out of shape haha I can only do like 20!!!! That is sad seeing as how I'm 5'9 and usually float around 210-215. Oh yeah and I'm only 22. But then again I don't go to the gym ever so this isn't a surprise.

64 without stopping in a minute. 6'2" 200lbs.
