So, I inherited a great dog

The house I moved into in NC had a previous tenant who abandoned her 4 year old chow/shepard mix, Jedi. I decided, after much thought and bonding, to keep him. Time to train him for the woods so I can bring him on my excursions into the Appalachian/Smokey Mountains. So, say hello to Jedi, the moderator dog! :)

Hi, Pup!

(Congratulations on a new companion, Brian.)

Thanks, Mike! Let's catch up on the phone again soon!

He's a great dog - smart and sly like a fox (I have to keep an eye on him), loves people, great with kids and other dogs, and has a bark that scares the crap out of unwelcome visitors (although he's all bark).

Hard to believe someone would abandon such a good looking dog. I can see the ghost of a tail wagging in the first pic. :D Sometimes the best things in life truly are "free".

Hello Jedi! Love the name, btw. Great lookin pal you have there Brian.

That's great news bro and lucky for Jedi that he has managed to find an owner that enjoys the outdoors as much as yourself !!!!!

It still blows my mind how anyone can abandon a dog in the first place though !!!!

Handsome dog, way to go

Richard would love to meet him for some mutual butt sniffing :D

I hate it when people abandon pets.
They usually don't make out so well as to find someone that wants them.

Glad this one did. A good dog is one of the best things to have.

Thanks, Guys. I guess the lady had a major nervous breakdown - lost her kids, job, etc. Not pretty. I'm told when she left and didn't come back, that's only when Jedi got some gray around his snout. He freaks everytime I have to leave the house, but I try to take him everywhere I can!

The other thing is that he is strong as hell. He literally broke the wire cable of his run chasing another dog. Didn't even slow him down! I had to reinforce it so it doesn't happen again.
