So this happened today. . .

I chose to send it in because I wanted the spa treatment. I could just as easily have requested a new clip be sent to me, as Berg Blades recently did for my Alpha. Not sure why but it sounds like you’re pretty soured on this brand. I get you don’t like the clip design but it sounds like more than that?

Edited to add I just reread what @shinyedges is saying. You mean you’d want an extra clip on hand in case the other breaks. I think something like goes back to what I was saying earlier. We have two examples in this thread of that clip breaking. I wonder how many there actually are percentage wise? You’d think of it was that big a problem he would redesign it just to save himself the aggravation.
Possible problem with getting a percentage would be owners who don’t EDC every day or have safe queens.
I don’t own one so just a thought.

Well, I can't be having bad knife karma floating around the universe, those knife gods a fickle bunch :). So please say the word if I need to refund, pay shipping to and from the maker or purchase and send the aftermarket pocket clip of your choice. I'd do any with a smile.

I mentioned in the for sale add that I felt that they had installed the wrong clip on it and that's why it "floated" up over the handle but didn't appear to be bent or damaged. It really looked like it got a standard shaped clip though it had the slim model handles. I only mention this in case you feel it may be worth mentioning to them in order to avoid a duplicate headache. Probably doesn't matter if the plan is to send the complete knife in.
I sent the whole knife in yesterday so he should have it by Monday with any luck. Maybe I’ll call him back and let him know what you just told me. I do wonder if the slim models get a different clip and this one somehow got the wrong one? IDK. . .

Allow this stuff to saturate for few hours makes unscrewing clip screws a breeze.
Also used on weapon mounts that are red loctited.
Ti stinks for pocket clips, it has no spring temper.
Best thing I’ve found is to hit it with hot air from a hair dryer for a minute or two before unscrewing.

I had to go check it out after you got my gears turning! Hinderer clips fit perfectly on Mcnees Mac’s but the hole pattern is further apart on the Curtiss. Also the Hinderer clips won’t fit the new Dixons either unless you drill the clip hole out a bit as they are closer together as well. View attachment 3091012
All three are awesome, but that Curtiss is a stunner. . .😮 😍
His clips may need work, but you gotta admit, the man makes a bad ass looking knife.

I hope it was fixed and was worth the wait.
I’m sure it will be. I love the knife. Reminds me very much of my XM-18 skinny. Both knives have a very similar feel and quality, but aesthetically, I like the Curtiss better actually.

Not to derail the topic, whenever 'accessories' are discussed, I believe clips, lanyards and SHEATHS are the top topics. Frustration is a prevalent common denominator. Finding the right match can be quest.

Did I mention sheaths?

Seriously BP, I hope you can announce a positive update soon.

Thank you buddy. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time now. . . 👍🏼
