So when the BK10 becomes available are you

I'm gonna grind the ramp off, stain the blade with some mango's, and beat the hell outta it. Make some a leather sheath for it, and turn it into my new "Beefy BushyCrafty Knife"

I'm probably gonna engrave a biscuit, with a pimp hat and platform shoes on it too.:D

From the looks of it and the stories about it, it might just have a good chance to become my main user. I like the BK-2, and when I took it to the woods for the first time I thought "man, this knife needs to be slightly thinner and longer and have a thumb ramp." I was thinking about the RSK Mk2... but now I know what to buy.

I'm gonna make a leather sheath with multiple carry options for it, still got some leather left over from my BK-9 sheath. Probably modify the micarta scales a bit, and build a nice kit around it. I'm thinking SAK/Multitool, Crewman, Bahco Laplander. For winter, camping or longer trips I'll throw in my axe. Modern day Nessmuk Trio / Quartet!

I'm not sure if I want anything engraved into the blade, but I'm thinking about "maethor - Beckerhead #89" along the spine, behind the thumb ramp. My best friend's mum has a laser engraver at work :D

this describes what I'll be doing with mine, with a few exceptions, my platforms will be glass and have gold fish swimming in those bad boys!!

otoh, regardless of what mods I do right away its going to be a user for sure..

I wish they would number these blades. but I will be using mine, and prob engrave Beckerhead 108 when I get home

Moose, wouldn't grinding the ramp off just turn it into a Campanion?
Or do the differences run drastically deeper than the grips, sheath, and thumb ramp with jimping?
I know the Blade shape is different as well, just being a smart alec.
The thumb ramp is one of my favorite things about the BK 10 thought as far as differences from the Campanion, why does it seem that so many people are hot to grind that off ?

We talked about it. But here was the thing, we got the knife in less than 3 months from when the concept was concieved. We got it in at a price that most can manage, without compromising food money.

Engraving would have added 2 or more months to the delivery, and about $40-$50 to the price. Some would have paid it, some wouldn't have BEEN able to pay it.

So, for our first time running a forum knife, I think we did good. The next time we do a special run knife, things will be different. :D

Gotta walk before you run.

im going to have a contest between the 10 and the 2 with the winner finding its place on my belt most of the time. Although i will need to get nick to make me a scout sheath for it asap.

No complaints from me brother, I'm incredibly excited about this! I'm glad I came around when I did!

Not so much, the Campanion is a much bigger, thicker, heavier monster. The grip is thinner, the balance is more toward the hand, and the weight makes it feel completely different.

It won't chop like a BK2, I promise. It won't take the lateral stress a BK2 would, either.

I'm thinking more of a bushcraft kinda knife, than my "one all, end all " knife, the BK2.

The jimping is one of the things I don't like about some of the BKT's. I do like it on my 7 though. Not on my 9 or the 10. I don't put my thumb on the top, and I square the spines on my knives, close to the handle. It's one of those ways of making the mods, fit the use of the knife.

I'm gonna use mine but it depends how it goes with it. So far I like all of my Beckers and each one has it's place, but I'm still looking for my one.

Safe queen here. I have a bunch of users including a BK10, I have users that haven't been used yet so this new one will get put into the safe.

I dont believe in safe queens. The only thing I keep in a safe is a Springfield Armory XD9. What fun is a knife you don't use?

user.
may even replace my OKC TAK1 as my preferred "small" bush knife.

agreed, let me change my answer to user then. But until I get around to using it, It'll be in the safe right next to my BK 77. Keep in mind I have a Camillus BK10 I carry everyday and use often, Maybe my kids will use it someday. I hadn't thought that far ahead. I do know this though, I'm gonna get one, even though I don't need it right now.

I can add a number or any personalization you want to your knife, I could/would/should and will offer these services for free to any Beckerhead that wants it... you pay shipping/insurance (optional) both ways... the only downside is, I'm completely swamped with current (un knife) related projects at the moment but things are looking brighter hopefully in the next few weeks (but I said this a month ago) I should have my head above water..

I'm going to paint mine and then strip it.
totally brought on a grin... me likey..!

If any european Beckerheads want their knife engraved, I'll be happy to set you up with my best friend's mum, she has a laser engraving machine at work. We could also save on shipping if we order together, what do you guys think? Shoot me a mail!

If any Beckerheads don't want their one at discount or cant afford it atm, is it ok for them to purchase one for a Becker fan that's not a Beckerhead yet ? ..lol ;)

Because if that's ok I would totally try to get 2 of them.
If its breaking the rules then I would probably only be able to get one. :(
