digging it, i'm seeing a kephart in their somewhere.

thanks for the photo whoever you may be

I'm going to see if I can baton an esee with it, then grind it into a tweener and sell it. Either that or put the micartas on it and carry it everytime I go out. Haven't decided, but it'll one of those two things.

I'm having trouble thinking of myself batoning with this knife. I'm usually very careful and try not to bring any knife in danger. Will this still be able to hold up to batoning? Common sense tells me yes, but after handling and using the BK-2, everything that's not 1/4" thick seems thin and flimsy.

I usually carry my axe for heavier work and I realize not every piece of wood has to be split. I owned a BK9 for a short time, but I only chopped and whittled with it, no batoning involved. After seeing nutnfancy temporarily bending an ESEE Junglas, I've become careful with batoning, probably a bit scared.

So, convince me, especially you, Oregon FAL'er. Your BK-10 looks like it's been to hell (that's a good thing for a Becker :D), and I imagine you've put it through its paces.

No reason to be scared most any knife can be smacked around a bit, especially if its differentially heat treated...

I have a very classy, custom $6 :D 18" bush tram that I've made into a 14" golok, last winter it sat on my back porch where I tried to break it in half, I torqued it several time and blasted through hoping it would break.... all winter I left it in the elements, and used it to baton oak, hickory and black jack (all hardwoods) into kindling for my fireplace............................... NOTHING, not even rust !!!!!!

don't be scared..........

I'm going to sharpen the swedge on mine and make a rhinosaurus spear.

I think I'm gonna eat mine, see if it tastes like chicken.

I've been called out. Pistols or knives, I choose knives cause pistols are boring. Convincing not needed, This mofo sells itself. To me though 3/16 is thick, I've been battoning with 5/32 for awhile now (it works fine) the trick is to look the wood over before battoning and try not to hit any knots, and not everything has to be battoned, I don't go out of my way to cut stuff just for the sake of cutting stuff either. I will however sit around the fire for hours feathersticking giving the fire a 1000 yard stare. So all that being said the BK2 is not my favorite blade, I have a hard time resonating with a 1/4 " thickness. Now I do have a full convex BK2 that I like very much (Brab's).

Ok my BK10 looks like its been used and thats true, it has. I have battoned a bunch of kindling with it and it did fine. I put it through a couple knots and knicked the edge in a few places, eventually it stropped out. I love how this knife slices. It looks like its seen more use than it has because that patina wasn't really forced, well 50/50 because I was using it in the kitchen to process meals, however I didn't wipe it off for hours afterwards. My goal was that 50 year old look.

Get one and you'll be happy you did if not it should be easy to sell over there, probably the only one in europe.

I am going to use it like a $2 whore. I can't wait to touch it. Sleep with it. Craft Bush with it. Make it love me as much as I already love it. Name it. (yes i name my knives, shut up) I have not been this excited in a long time. Maybe I need a life but maybe, just maybe, I need this knife more than a life. Wait this knife will be part of my wilderness life. Oh the dirt time I will have with her. Yes, I will use her. Use her I shall.

Craft Bush with it

"You wanna craft my bush, baby?" *falls down laughing*

Thanks FAL'er. I guess you're right about the selling thing. It'll be like a one-off custom knife here. Awesome. Of course that means that I'll keep it forever :D

Me craft you long time

I'm going commandeer tradewater's, Flexxx's, and DerekH's and use all four BK-10's to make a remote-controlled, whirling-cyclone-of-death helicopter.

Wasn't it "spinning cyclone of death"?

Aaaah, I love BFC insiders.

Yes, but mine will be a whirling cyclone of death. I like to whirl better than I like to spin.

I love my companion, but I've always loved the BK10 from photos. Can't wait to get my paws on one and try it out. See which ends up on my belt. Even if it doesn't score above my BK2 (I just love the thickness of the blade, I feel like it's invincible), it'll still get serious use and love from me.
