So when the BK10 becomes available are you

Dude, stop trying :D Or at least, stop telling everyone that you'll try to break the rules. If you do, do it like a ninja. Swift, silent, and deadly...

Tough one. I'll have to try it - definately. But such a coveted piece ? ... Like I said, tough one.

@ Maethor, LOL

I don't want to Break the rules per say.... more like bend them within allowed tolerances..heh
What kind of Beckerhead in waiting would I be if I abused the system before I could even get a number?
Any chance to say Ninja though shouldn't be wasted, so good on ya.

Im going to send it to knifetest.com LOL IM JUST KIDDING I KNOW IT WAS A BAD JOKE!!!
I will become my main blade I just did a trade for a bk2 that had paper scales so I could have a set for it. I gave the bk2 to my uncle who has just recently gotten into "survival"

I have been a Beckerhead user thru various wildnerness trips at my side, and fan for many years, but have yet to qualify to be true Beckerhead with a number on Blade Forum. One day I will. I have 12 Becker knives of varying #s, with micarta to G10 scales and would give anything to pick up one of these BK10s. Just hope I get online, get in line on time to get one when they become available, after the Beckerheads have made their purchase. Just an awesome opportunity. Very excited

I was out cutting the grass and thinking about what I'm going to do to it when I get mine, and I came up with this; Convex, polish the blade, chrome hardware, polish the mircta, and make a nice leather skirt with all kindsa frills and lace :D (ok maybe not frills and lace but deff. a leather skirt). After I get all that done I'm going to use the hell out of it!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

I'm kinda nervous about the comments saying its a better bushcrafter than a BK2. I love the 2 so much but will keep an open mind and give the 10 a bunch of tests. The winner gets marathonman scales and goes into the outdoors with me, the other winner becomes my truck knife. I'm considering doing a bunch of cosmetic mods to the one I choose as my camp/pack knife to match what I'm doing to my Trail Hawk. A matching Becker/hawk combo would be badass (as we know, seeing what The Warrior did recently to his pair).

It lighter, and more center balanced than the 2. That makes it a better bushcrafter right there. But its still no BK2. I've driven my BK2 into a fatwood stump and kicked it sideways to tear out a chunk. BK10 won't do that. It wasn't made to replace the BK2, its just another BKT knife in the lineup. It has its own pros and cons.

Can't chop like a BK2 can either.

Its just different.

I'm sorry but it sounded like you said it's not like the 2. What knife are we suppose to get if we want a 2 then?

I like this guy, a lot.

Here's the deal for me.....

The main reason I'm buying the 10 is that it's a BH/BF knife that Tooj, Ethan, Moose et al put a lot of effort into to make available at a fantastic price. I don't really need the knife, and the reason I didn't buy one when they were being produced is that the "shorty 9" look just didn't do it for me. I realize the 10 is a much different knife than the 2, but for the size, the 2 "speaks" to me, the 10 really doesn't.

I said in the other thread that I wouldn't hesitate to use the knife if I needed it, but I don't anticipate finding a *need* that one of my other user-knives don't already fulfill. With that in mind, my new Crewman will be a defacto safe queen.

I was also thinking about whether or not I'd be modding it. I have about decided that I won't, unless I find a niche use for the knife, in which case, I'll "make it mine" as it were. The two-tone look is a great platform from which to start modding, but once I start that, it limits the ability of someone else to mod it to their specifications, and if it's a non-user, safe queen, the whole reason for having something like that is the speculative notion that it will increase in value and be sold sometime down the road. Part of that added value would be the never-used/never-sharpened/never-modded status, so I'm planning on leaving it alone, at least for as long as it remains unused.

Im gonna use it hard and put it away wet :) well.... maybe not abused but mine will be a user!
