Trying to revive this great thread! I only have two, but another one is one the way! Thanks for sharing!

That's a great thread with some very expansive pics. I especially, am enthused about Case offering the 3138 in yellow delrin/CV, once again. Really got me thinking a great deal about this particular pattern. It's so simplistic, but versatile. All in all if you're a knife user, it's certainly hard to go wrong with a Sodbuster.

Fantastic!
gotta say I'm really impressed with my GEC bullnose orange. Its a gem.

I was thinking about this thread earlier today, I have quite a few that I need to add. In fact, I would say I have more than double now but I need to sit down and take pics and write down info on each. I do encourage people to share their pics and thoughts on the pattern! Maybe Sunday I can update a bit!

Great collection of soddies there.

I have a large Case Sodbuster in my pocket right now, one of the old CV models.

An extensive sodbuster reference! I hope this will inspire collectors of other specific patterns to post a like reference in the future. It would make this site the place to research future purchases and provide some historical and anecdotal content as others added to it. Thank you!

This thread made my day. Probably my favourite pattern, so this has been fun to browse through. My Bullnose is one of my favourite knives, gets carried a lot.

Gah I knew I should have stayed out of this thread. :o

Sodbusters are to knife like black lab is to dog for me. Just the quintessential "knife" knife, much like the Buck 110, and to a lesser extent, the CRK Sebenza.

I've never owned one btw, but I know that I will eventually. I love the bolstered ones. I love the pivot pins on the Italians, and I really want the GEC in o1.

Question. I'm a huge pushover for any knife that has a rounded spine. It almost looks like the yellow handled Case at the very top has exactly that. Is this right, or am I mistaken? If it is rounded, do you have a close up?

Really awesome collection. I'm hoping that I'll fall head over heals for a specific pattern so that I can build something similar one day. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

I'm jonesing for a Bull nose, really just because it's in O1, I've had grand luck with O1, and am fond of it for a use on a working knife. The orange scales look excellent as well.

I just ordered a Bull Nose and I can't wait for it to arrive. I have just recently discovered the sodbuster and I have to admit it was love at first sight. I have been reading all of the post here and looking at all the pictures and I must say I am already an addict. I look forward to collecting them and finding those hard to acquire makers. If anyone has and information or assistance the can provide concerning the sodbusters please feel free to send me a message. I hope to post some pictures soon as my GEC arrives....

Congrats on the bullnose, it's one of my favorites and I'm sure it will probably be one of yours as well as you collect. Feel free to hit me up if you are looking for info one certain models, comparison pics or ideas where to acquire some of them. The hard to find ones that are out of production take some time, persistence and luck to get your hands on them. Welcome to the sodbuster illness :D

I do love the Bullnose and agree with the others the Sodbuster pattern has shown the test of time. Good luck on your hunt sjodyw

I must amend my first post by saying that I *had* never had one.

I certainly do now thanks to trevytrev!

I was literally just oiling the pivot after a patina. Like right now. I have the syringe of mineral oil in my lap. The house still stinks of hot vinegar and my wife is still a little irritated. :D

I found the edge on this brand new Case Sodbuster Jr. to be very sharp, but not as acute as I normally keep my knives, so...

Traditionalists skip the next sentence! I put it on the edge pro and got it razor sharp. ;)

I'm found the finish on the CV to be quite attractive, but there were a few reasons for the patina. The main one is that I was juuuust barely unable to pinch it open before with the polished finish. Now it's easy. Rust isn't really an issue for me, but a patina never hurts in that regard. It was also already getting scratched up from use, and I simply love the look of a nice patina. Also, I can't leave my knives alone. If I'm going to keep them (I'll keep this one forever) I feel like I must make it my own. I'll probably dye the Delrin too.

Anyway, these knives are everything I hoped and thought they might be. Excellent cutters, well made and a great value Imo.

Thanks again trevytrev! I'll post some pics after I've dyed it. :)

Awesome bro, glad you are making it your own! Can't wait to see pics after the dye job, mine was an epic fail!lol. I'll post pics...
