Sodbuster...and lots of them!

The 71's were actually changed to 1095 in October of 2015. The last run that used O1 was December of 2013. All of the F&F models were changed to 1095. You can probably do a search and find the discussions that were centered around this change when it happened. :)

I didn't know that. I stopped buying when they went to the proud pivot. Thanks for the info.

Mumbo, Even though the pic on a camber puts the Swamp Warden in perspective.
Nice pic.

I might be looking for one of them before too long...

I've been using one with my green linen micarta Mudbug for a little over a year now. It's what I carry on my belt most often, when I'm hiking and camping. The craftsmanship is first rate. Nice supple leather and excellent stitching. The sheath rides nice and tight to your hip, and is perfectly canted. Extremely secure, if you dedicate the sheath to that one model of knife.

I've own some thicker, more robust pancake sheaths for other knives. But they're nowhere near as comfortable as the Mudbug sheath.

Thanks Buzz 👍. Need to decide what to do tomorrow for the release and your post was very helpful.

Maroon linen mudbug sold out quick. Had to settle for a black linen with the sheath. Gotta support LA based companies and American products

Also i didn't search the thread but anyone got pics of the mudbug compared to a case sodbuster. The full size not the jr.

Scratch that. I called Smith and son and they had a box of Maroon knives that were damaged but they managed to pull one more good one out. So if you're looking for Maroon good luck and maybe order by phone.

It sounds like I got lucky getting a maroon mudbug. I don't know how quickly they sold out but I was waiting on their site right at noon (eastern) and grabbed one as fast as I could. :)

I'd be over the moon if I could come across a maroon micarta bullnose.

Quick question. I have rust building up in my bullnose liners I use pipe cleaner every so often to scrape some of it out what can be done to prevent rusting in there ? Thanks in advance for any help.

You could put oil on the liners or for a more long term solution. Wipe them with mineral spirits and apply marine tuf cloth. Of course it's wise to check on them from time to time, clean and reapply.

OD Green Canvas Micarta darkens quite a bit as shown in this picture.

Looking good Ed! I've been a little off the radar online but still keeping up with the Soddies. I have a few new Cases and I'm patiently awaiting the new Bullnoses(especially the Burlap) and will get some new pics up when they all get here. I need to take some time to tidy up the front page and get an updated family shot! Love seeing the shots everyone.

I stumbled on this thread about a month ago and since that day, whenever I’ve had a few minutes, I have soaked up the narrative, poured over the photos (some worthy of an art gallery), laughed at the wit and learned much about this simple and stunningly beautiful knife. To the author of it’s origin (Trevor) and the host of others whose input have created a body of work not unlike a fine book. Thank you

Smitten

Got a burgundy linen micarta, canvas micarta, burlap micarta, and a nifebrite acrylic coming! I also got an extra nifebrite for my son, he needed something to carry besides his #73 to work with.
