SOLVED LionSteel cust. service or the dealer

I wonder what would be hard enough to scratch m390 like that.

Maybe a crystal dropped on them after a carefully staged photo??

Great observation about that! I’m a mineral and gem dealer, knowing how easy it is for Quartz to scratch the hell out of everything softer, that it comes into contact with.

I got my knife yesterday, the service was impeccable from start to finish and even included a shrink-wrapped shipping box, never seen that level of detail before. Couldn’t be happier with the service.

It isn’t the fanciest or the most expensive knife, but it was exactly as described and with that kind of service if I ever want to upgrade I know where I’d be comfortable going.

I dont usually have the funds to buy a $100ish knife but when I do I'll certainly check out what's in stock at CK first.

Also, just added someone to my ignore list.

Nice of them to include all that extra stuff...

What a bizarre thread.

Looking at the photos, the screw appears to have just worked loose... screw it back in. It's clearly not sitting proud at dinner. Sometimes they come out. It's a screw.

I agree with the OP about the scratches on the blades, but I'd have just returned them. CK has a return policy posted on the website with instructions. Just follow those.

I've bought from CK before on a couple if occasions. One was a typical purcase of a production knife. A Lionsteel actually. It shipped quickly and arrived without incident. The other was for a couple of vintage slip joints. For those I called and spoke with Mike. I wanted information about them not listed on the site. He asked that I call back later, I don't remember the time frame, because he was busy. I called back as requested and he spent a good 30 minutes talking with me about the knives in question.

He was also kind enough to test fit a pocket slip for a knife that I already owned. I didn't buy the knife from him, I just wanted one of his slips for it and he went through the trouble to find a similar knife and test fit it so that I'd know what size to order.

A pleasant conversation with a fellow knife nut, 2 flawless transactions and above average customer service. Keep up the good work @knifeswapper.

Fortunately posts in FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! most often get results.
Message received from LionSteel yesterday:

>>Dear Customer,

I saw the pictures attached and I can only think that the countersunk screw located on the back is too high.

Today I send screws of different length to solve the problem.
Thank you for activating Lionsteel warranty, please keep this e-mail as proof of activation.
Best regards

Screw caused a chip/crack in the wood.

Very simple, two of the knives received were perfect in every aspect, the others were allowed to slip by (no pun intended) Quality Control by LionSteel then again unfortunately by the dealer.
Nothing personal towards the dealer or LionSteel but the product needs to be checked thoroughly before allowed to ship out to a dealer and then to the consumer.

As I mentioned in the first post in the thread, some people hate anything that is not a glowing, gushingly positive post within FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! that is inevitable and unfortunately expected.
No response to Junior Detectives, Conspiracy Theorists, Fanboys, Fangirls, Trollettes, Name callers, common schoolyard bullies or the little bullies that always come along and hide behind them, no response.

When I receive the replacements, I will ask B.F. to remove this entire post as it appears my objective will be met.
'Steven65' no photos will be erased as nothing warrants any photo erasures.
