SOLVED LionSteel cust. service or the dealer

I just gotta say...After reading this thread in its’ entirety, I was impressed with Mike’s positive and professional manner, so much, that I was compelled to visit CK. I’ve been thinking about adding a slipjoint to the collection. The problem was that it was so vast and so well organized, that I need to do more homework. I will definitely make a purchase there, in the near future.

After reading this, I would have no problem buying from CK....

Well I put my money where my mouth is and ordered a GEC 43 from CK last night. I started second guessing myself after I ordered and messaged CK late last night with a question. Mike answered first thing this morning (7:30am my time so 6:30am? his time) in plenty of time to cancel/change my order if needed. The knife is now on it's way.

I can't believe this thread is still alive.

I, too, hadn't really known about CK until this thread. Then I checked them out and found out that Lon Humphrey knives makes forged 3V blades! I mean, I don't need one, but forged 3V - come on!

I take it Mr Humphrey doesn't update his website - says KSF and DLT are his two exclusive distributors.

My experience buying from this dealer was very positive:

I got on the Shuffler craze about 3 weeks ago and ordered the white CF iteration (not a slip joint type of guy, but what the heck as you gotta have some!).

If any gripe at all by just being picky, the knife came a tad off center but that is more on the Italian production knife than the dealer. Very impressed with their payment receipt and shipping notification / tracking platform. The package was very nicely shrink-wrapped and everything was very professional and very clean.

As a shipper of other products, I have a critical sense for how other people present, package and ship products to their customers and regarding my small transaction I could not really find any fault with this dealer and his process. Based on the care in packaging and also their platform for payment and shipping notification, I can not fathom that CK could be amateurish when it comes to returns / RMA / customer service. In fact I just quickly checked their website and everything is laid out very efficiently.

How about you take your big bag of fail and your production knives somewhere else. knifeswapper knifeswapper fixed your problem yet you don't have the testicular fortitude to come back and change your title or thank him for fixing your perceived problems.

Imagine his total shock when he found there weren’t tons of people here to agree with his horrendous plight......not many immature entitled whiny bitches here to commiserate with him???? So sad.
Poor guy.
The responses in this thread make me glad to be a member here.

I think the mistake wasn't so much the original post, but doubling down once CK jumped in to resolve it. I wouldn't be particularly pleased if I received brand new knives with scratches on the blades, and that one knife with the screw sticking out would definitely be returned for a refund ASAP. The complaints regarding LionSteel's QC are valid.

That being said, if I had posted this and gotten CK's response, I'd immediately be thanking them for the help AND modifying the thread title and original post accordingly.

Exactly the way most would’ve handled this situation, but refusing to even read CK’s response spoke volumes re OP.

And that's something that must be couched as a constructive criticism for the dealer / retailer to take up with the manufacture, because ultimately inferior QC will sully the good reputation of the said dealer. The OP went beyond expressing constructive criticism by doubling and tripling down on CK.

I can speak to my experience with CK regarding a return. I was issued an RMA immediatley on request. The whole experience was fast, easy and very professional.

Above all, the communication throughout the process was excellent and timely.

That's as much as I had gathered. What I don't get is as to why the OP (apparently) did not go through the provided RMA route and decided to email the retailer instead? The OP is not a newbie to this realm and seems to have been around for a while. While I do not wish to discount his original gripe regarding F&F, a savvy online customer ought to know that it is much more efficient to contact a retailer / dealer through the provided site map rather than a direct email as email messages sent directly can and will end up in spam!

Another point, if you (generally speaking) care to read the LionSteel subforum you will find quite a bit of complaints about LS's past weak communication records. Again the OP is not new and some basic research ought to have shown him the better course of action. There was really no need for this fiasco and the consistent mention of that expenditure ~ $800 was a terrible way to establish credibility. For crying out loud, some of us rightly or wrongly spend more than that on a single blade without any statements of bravado

The way I see it C chambelona59 :

1) Posted a complaint about his purchase of knives AFTER POSTING PICS of THE KNIVES BEING USED.
2) Posted that he Refused to read Dealers post reviewing what factually occurred via email.
3) Repeatedly refused to answer a simple question as to why it took him so long (after receipt, posting pics of the knives being used) to post complaint.

Failing to get any members whatsoever to agree with his BS thread, entitled member C chambelona59 pretends he is a Magician & chants "Abracadabra, Presto Chango" and surprise!! HE DISAPPEARS.

This is not how adults behave.

I wonder what would be hard enough to scratch m390 like that.

Maybe a crystal dropped on them after a carefully staged photo??
