SOLVED LionSteel cust. service or the dealer

I dont know what surprises me the most about this post,......

1.The audacity of OP by blatantly using, taking pictures of the knifes before bringing/posting it here......
Or....
2.That their isn't 40 posts defending the actions of the OP even though he's been proven a jackass.

Did he not request earlier to change/remove the Bad on this title?

No..If you read his last post or one of the last posts he made in this thread, he stated that he would ask to change the title or have the thread deleted once he received the screws.

Fortunately posts in FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! most often get results.
Message received from LionSteel yesterday:

>>Dear Customer,

I saw the pictures attached and I can only think that the countersunk screw located on the back is too high.

Today I send screws of different length to solve the problem.
Thank you for activating Lionsteel warranty, please keep this e-mail as proof of activation.
Best regards

Very simple, two of the knives received were perfect in every aspect, the others were allowed to slip by (no pun intended) Quality Control by LionSteel then again unfortunately by the dealer.
Nothing personal towards the dealer or LionSteel but the product needs to be checked thoroughly before allowed to ship out to a dealer and then to the consumer.

As I mentioned in the first post in the thread, some people hate anything that is not a glowing, gushingly positive post within FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! that is inevitable and unfortunately expected.
No response to Junior Detectives, Conspiracy Theorists, Fanboys, Fangirls, Trollettes, Name callers, common schoolyard bullies or the little bullies that always come along and hide behind them, no response.

When I receive the replacements, I will ask B.F. to remove this entire post as it appears my objective will be met.
'Steven65' no photos will be erased as nothing warrants any photo erasures.
not true. folks post bad experiences. but when a highly respected dealer, and earned that title and reputation from years of good service and such......,comes and wants to fix it and solves the issue/complaint...usually folks thank them.

its called normal courtesy. least down here it is.

btw not a fan girl or boy for lionsteel....dont own any of their products yet....but am a fan of the dealer. you may want to reread your reponses and see the way everyone else is taking them. as you seem to be the only one taking it the way you are. if youd rather not so be it...........

I am not in the market anytime soon for a new knife.. but if I can swing some extra funds I am going to be sure to order from knifeswapper next. I can find something I like (already have actually) even if I don't have the immediate need for it. :)

If I had a more conspiratorial mind I might think this whole mess was hatched to increase sales...;^) but after reading the latest from the jackass, I think Hanlon had it right.

(Disclaimer: I am already a regular customer of CK.)

That being said, this thread is a complete and utter disappointment. The OP is going to make a lot of ignore lists if he/she hasn't already.

It doesn't take a "fanboy" to recognize the bastion of integrity that Mike is and I will take his word over that of some disgruntled nobody who has a chip on his/her shoulder. Using blatant falsehoods and abusing the GBU sub in order to either 1.) intentionally besmirch and demean the good name of a reputable dealer or 2.) throw a tantrum because you aren't getting your way fast enough (or 3.) all of the above), is just pure nonsense. You know what they say about karma... I hope you enjoy a healthy dose of whatever that entails.

When making accusations, the burden of proof is with the accuser and the OP has yet to prove that the BAD flag here is warranted. The unintended consequence being that Mike grows his business and gains new customers and the OP here fades into obscurity, being loathed by those he/she might have deemed as peers and friends at one point in time. Well done...

@knifeswapper, please continue doing what you do and know that despite the bad apples, there are many of us who appreciate your efforts, your long suffering nature, and your integrity. Your Lionsteel SFOs are excellent contributions to the knife enthusiasts/collectors community and I enjoy my own Shuffler and Roundhead immensely and am looking forward to your upcoming runs, particularly the Dom.

For what it's worth, I phoned Mike @knifeswapper the other day and told him that I was calling just to say that I support him and his business. I told him to not let this thread get him down...those that are in "the know" are aware of his great customer service/support. I guess you could call it a "pep talk" to simply cheer him up...sometimes a human voice letting you know things are cool can really help...just my .02¢ worth.

If a buyer is unhappy with a knife, it’s pretty easy to send it back for a full refund, rather than start a thread about it, and open oneself up to ridicule, by displaying impolite mannerisms.
Long screws can be easily shortened, if there is enough thread. Wood is a medium that inherently has slight imperfections, and some people like the “character” that it gives. With normal use, any knife or tool will end up with many cosmetic flaws, but still provide the intended function, while looking good enough that few people will ever notice anything different.
The photos of the knives are very good, and show that the styling is impressive. I never knew about CK, or these special edition Lion Steel knives, so at least this thread is educational enough to bring attention to a reliable dealer and some very interesting and attractive knives.

After reading this thread in its entirety I ended up going to CK's website and ended up buying my first new knife in a long time. Whatever shenanigans the OP felt like getting into I hope that everybody else who reads this thread came to the same conclusion as I did that CK was not the issue and performed above and beyond normal business practices throughout.

First... we all know knives are tools and meant to be used.... knives are meant to show wear eventually, so there's point in debating that.
However, when I purchase several knives from a company totaling $780.95, there should not be any shoddy work or poor tolerances.
If the knives were used or previously owned it would be a different story... the knives in question that I received were "new".

Q.C. / Quality Control exists so a product does not leave the factory floor unless it passes inspection.
When someone spends $780.95 on several knives or any amount of money, it should not be a roll of the dice whether what is received is high quality in fit/finish/tolerances.

I purchased six "Lion Steel Shuffer's" (slip joint knives) from U.S. dealer "Collector Knives" totaling $780.95, unfortunately four out of six have issues, the other two are perfect.
Additionally, none of the "LionSteel" boxes the knives arrived to me in had names or product codes on them.

The dealer has not responded to an email and the manufacturer has not responded to three or four emails.

The issues:

Model: "Shuffler" clip point slip joints.

#1 Stag Horn. ** 1 rear screw not "set in" correctly, not 'flush' with scale as all others were has now fell out. Photos.

#4 Natural Micarta. ** Scratch on blade. Photos.

#5 White Carbon Fiber. **"no problems/no issues/perfect".

#6 Rams Horn. ** "No problems/no issues /perfect".

I emailed detailed photos and descriptions of the issues to the dealer "Collector Knives" and NEVER heard back from them.
I have emailed "LionSteel" three or four times describing in full the issues including photos.
And stated I'm willing to pay for if necessary 1 or more replacement screws.

At this point, one of the screws that was never 'set into' the Stag scale/knife correctly has fallen out and I requested from LionSteel a replacement or few of them which I will gladly pay for if necessary.
All of the other knives have the screws set in correctly... 'flush' or slightly below the surface of the scale as they should be.... however the one (1) screw in question had an obvious problem when it was first received by me, the screw was raised up protruding up above the scale, very noticeable especially when felt with the thumb or any finger and could not be screwed down into the scale.

At this point I really want to resolve the problem with the screw that fell out.
Again, at this point, I'd like to request a replacement screw or a few of them which I will gladly pay for if necessary (photos enclosed of the original screw not "set into" scale correctly and then missing after it fell out(.

I have had ZERO response from both the dealer 'Collector Knifes' as well as the manufacturer 'LionSteel'.

How about you take your big bag of fail and your production knives somewhere else. @knifeswapper fixed your problem yet you don't have the testicular fortitude to come back and change your title or thank him for fixing your perceived problems.
