I've been curious.... has anyone ever opened a can with the can opener on a SAK? I suppose I could try it the next time I open a can...
Quite a many times. It works almost as quickly as a typical manual household can opener.I've been curious.... has anyone ever opened a can with the can opener on a SAK? I suppose I could try it the next time I open a can...

I agree it’s an excellent can opener, but for me the best thing about it is the fact that it also has the phillips screwdriver tip. I had just finished using it as a screwdriver when I took this photo a few weeks ago. It really is a brilliant design.I think the can opener on an SAK is pure genius. I am continually impressed with how well it works.
Beautiful old Soldier, José!
Is that EO a Solo? Very handsome!!

Thanks for the confirmation; you did a fantastic job!It is indeed; thanks for the kind words.
A couple of years ago I saw one of these that the great Robert Lessard has made, and I decided I would make one for myself. It is the only “mod” I’ve ever done.

The Waiter has the highest utility/size ratio of any SAK. It’s my preferred around-the-house knife.
