Somebody screwed up big time... 3/31/16 UPDATE

Let's not be so hasty to jump to conclusions. All the companies involved have very good reputations and they all have very good customer service from my experience.

Strongly recommend to follow this advice. No reason to talk dirty about those companies involved. They are great people, but still humans and not computers. So take it easy.

Seems that the CF pattern has changed, unless it is not an optical illusion?

Hi Mike, greetings from Cape Town. :)

I have no doubt that you will be taken care of quickly. It is an obvious mistake which almost certainly originates with the CRK shipping department. Obviously someone there mis-read a label and shipped the wrong dealer exclusive to the wrong dealer. It happens, but I can understand your frustration given the fact that you were looking so forward to having your first CRK.

I look forward to reading your review when you receive your actual knife as I own the CF inlay 21 and 25 and I have been considering buying one of the small ones to round out the set. I am sure that you will be impressed.

All the best mate.

Steven

What a bunch of crud! Cant anyone do anything right anymore. Nobody has any work ethic any more? Whenever I do any business with anyone I have to check and double check to make sure I'm getting what I asked for.

This has nothing to do with work ethic or incompetence. These are two first rate companies who made an honest mistake and will soon correct it. Any reasonable person would realise this and understand the unfortunate error that occurred.

To me the frustration is the excitement this caused for you, now to be dashed. And realistically neither Blade HQ or CRK may have a CF inlay to send you!

Think of it as you get to sit in a Ferrari, turn it on, rev up the motor, feel it's nice comfy leather and play with all the controls to see if it's to your liking. Then YOUR Lamborghini will arrive all slicked up new and shiny where you can then really drive that thing hard wth no holding back.

CRK and Blade Hq will make sure your taken care of.

If it's a rare occasion, this topic may help to keep it that way (rare).
Not everyone is a collector, with many others to keep them company.

Thinking about this some more- There may be an upside; If BHQ received KA's exclusive, then it may also be true that KA has BHQ's exclusive..They just need to swap.
I think they receive the boxes with several of these per box..So there is some hope..maybe?

Wow....

Yeah, I'm not worried. It will all work out

Absolutely... There was no reason for that member to post what he did about work ethic etc. I didn't respond to that member because I ignore his posts, as do many other members.

Re: the CF, it may just be an illusion. I'm not good at taking indoor pictures, and I didn't spend much time trying to get them to come out better. In person it looks like the others I have seen in good pictures.

Hi Steven. Good to see you.... Hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to give you a report :D I'm not worried, it will all work out. In the mean time, I do have a really cool CRK to fondle and admire.
It is hard having one though, and not being able to slip it into my pocket and use it :(

I'm sure they will take care of you. Now I'm wondering if I'll have the same issue.

I was wondering that too... That was actually one of the biggest reasons I started this thread. Well that and to vent a little :D Hopefully yours is fine

 Don't say that

You could be right Bill. I will find out out as soon as BHQ opens their doors in the morning :D Their phone will be ringing as they walk through the doors :D

With regards to the CF pattern, I have the same one on my 2015 KA exclusive..the patterns on the CF are longer and not boxy.. They are also patterned "horizontally" unlike most ones which goes vertical in my eyes...

@338375... This presents a huge problem to you now.. or rather to your wallet...

You definitely gonna "need" both KA & BHQ now... [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Yes it does. I was just sitting here fondling it some more... I've been trying to keep the fondling to a minimum though because there is a chance it will get shipped back.
I'm not worried about finger prints, I just don't want to open and close the box very many times, because I'm afraid the flaps might tear a little... As you guys know, it is a snug fit getting everything back in the box.

At least the KA knives are easier to find. Once I get the cf inlay knife in my hands I can relax and start thinking
about #2 :D

If it turns out BHQ can sell this one, there is a good chance I will keep it too... I did get the right hat though :D

I guarantee this was a mishipment issue from CRK. I'm in Blade HQ all the time, and I'm constantly asked to show my Knife Art CF Sebenza because most of them have never seen one in person. Happened again just last week. No one is immune to shipping mistakes, especially when you do so much business and have such similar SKUs. I'd actually be surprised if this is the first time it's happened. I know BHQ does spot check knives as they pick and pack, but they don't want to handle every knife they sell, so something like this is inevitable, although most likely not their fault, as the only CF Sebenza they sell is the inlay version.

Absolutely. Mistakes happen, that's why I'm not all worked up about it. I'm sure that is what happened. I will find out when I get the inlay knife, but I would think the tag would indicate CF Inlay and not just CF, but maybe it doesn't. Either way, it isn't the end of the world. I am anxious to hear their response in the morning though :D

I was a little surprised when I saw the size of the box. I don't know why but I always thought the boxes were bigger. I guess it is if you get a large or a 25 :D

Nope...all the same

Thanks I didn't know that. They always looked a lot bigger in the pictures :D The Priority box they shipped it in was huge... One small box
and a hat, and about 10,000 packing peanuts lol

Here's a few quick ones...

Man thats nice. I have been contemplating picking a KA CF version myself. You will have to let us know how it feels and some comparison when you get the actual knife you ordered in the first place.

Will do... It's a really sweet knife. I like that the CF gives a little bite in hand. Not sure how it does when it's wet. I was surprised that the knife is so light, and am curious to see how much weight difference there is between the two. I don't worry about the weight of my knives, it's more a curiosity.

Knowing how nicely the small fits, now I am curious about the large lol

CRK is a small business that competes internationally and makes some of the finest productions knives available.

That being said, they are from what I can tell a very small business. The backbone of America to be honest. That being said, and I have no idea the case, but likely they have very few employees. People make mistakes, especially when they wear a lot of hats. Part of life, part of reality, and part of doing business in a very niche market.
