Song Sung BLUE: Blue-handled Traditional Knives

I was wondering when the Wheel was going to make it's appearance!!

:D

I need to update the Wheel(!).

But, pertinent to this thread, some of the pictures in my previous post demonstrate my contention that blue knives look all the better in comparison and contrast with knives clad in other worthy colors and/or materials.

[Let's keep the focus/discussion on blue-clad knives, but images containing knives with other cover colors are acceptable, welcome even-- as long as they include at least one blue knife. ;)]

Now, look what you've done! There goes the neighborhood:

Kidding, of course! :D

Lol. thank you pertinux!!!! You have some really beautiful blue knives!!!:thumbup:

Thanks Erik!!

Thanks P!! The Hawthornes are definitely a favorite of mine. I really like blue denim micarta as well. I hope GEC and other manufacturers use it more in the future. I believe the Northwoods Michigan Jack is the first production GEC made knife with denim micarta. The Gunny came with blue denim, its what made me grab it in the first place. Bark River offers a great many handle options for their knives including blue denim, you just don't see it too often. The #73 started out with Stained Green Tea jigged bone covers. Besides having it changed to the denim, I also had the lanyard tube added. He's not a member here so PM incoming. Until then, here's a pic of the pile side.

Here's the other side of the Gunny. I did send it in to BRK to have the ramp removed so its smooth on top. I just haven't taken a pic since I got it back.

And it looks like a bunch of us have the blue Vic Farmers. Great knife and great color!!

Something borrowed,something blue.

Which I would have to do.

Sarah I agree with you,

That #48 denim is no snafu. Lovely knives all.

Amazing thread Sarah, really enjoy seeing the variety of knives here. Another great one for the books/really brought a brightener to what has been a tumultuous week.
Some special blue coming on Saturday but for now here is the current blue.

Thanks, Tim!

Your "current blue" is as perfect as it comes. It'll look even better once the edges become silvered with use. ;)

What a great idea for a thread, Sarah! I never feel blue looking at blue knives. Here are mine:

Victorinox (The Huntsman was a gift from my boss, now friend)

Thanks!

The first three knives here were all the knife I carried and used on a regular basis for most of my adulthood, before a son's asking for "a pocket knife" for his 20th birthday (four years ago, now) ignited my second-wind love of traditional patterns:

[The thing being, a Classic is still all I need, if that, most days. I won't tell if you won't tell.]

Northwoods Broadway Jack in camel bone and Michigan Jack in denim micarta.

As I've already mentioned, I love how KSF/Northwoods is bringing forth some truly best blues on a regular basis. Those are both stellar.

Could you please tell me more about this one (Maker, pattern)? Looks great!

My GEC 38

I love my own #38 Farmer's Jack in white bone. Your blue looks great!

Very cool-- I've always loved how the jigging looks like choppy waves. I've seen these knives in person only behind glass x2 (in displays at the GEC factory), so appreciate the closer glimpses.

BigImBass, a drop point? Ooh, la.
