Just left BLADE and thought this was one of the cooler little folders there. I like Zac Brown and have always followed Southern Grind. This is basically a smaller 'Bad Monkey' with better steel. Pretty cool. I always thought the Bad Monkey was a bit large and didn't have the steel you typically see at that price range. This looks just right!

I picked one of these up at blade today. I love the contoured carbon fiber scales. Pretty sweet little folder.

Very happy to see Southern Grind using s35vn. I would buy a bad monkey in s35vn in a minute.

Their Facebook page hints at another knife called the Rhino. Anyone see that one?

I talked to one of the guys there about it. I think it is a frame lock design. He hinted that it was and that it would be ready by August.

Glad southern grind is coming out with some more options, I love their bad monkeys!

Thanks for the info. I guess that means they didn't have any on hand. Cant wait to see that one.

I bought a Spider Monkey today at BLADE. I love this thing. I loved the Bad Monkey I used to have but it was too large for me for an EDC. This little guy is perfect and love the black coated blade in a great steel.

They also had this crazy fixed blade with a flashlight in the handle. Pretty wild.

The guy helping me with the Spider Monkey said the flashlight was Zack's baby. He said he designed that himself.

Specs on this one? If its around 3", that's about right size - I've always liked its big brother, but the size was a turn off.

It is fantastic, I picked one up as well. I haven't had a chance to take any pics but it is just slightly and I mean slightly longer than a Kershaw Skyline. It's full Ti lined, with a carbodized lockbar.

edit, took a quick cell pic.

My old buddy VolGrad ! Ross (Big Red) and I were there but didn't see you. We saw Todd Litt. I bought this:

Although not planning to keep it.

Hate that I missed you and Ross. I was looking for familiar faces but didn't see any other than Dustin at EM Gear. I didn't see Tod.

I won the Les George lottery and flipped it to Arizona Customs before I left the show. The profit paid for this Spider Monkey. Also cool - the Southern Grind guys were giving away with the purchase a t-shirt and one of those cheap little backpack bags everyone uses for promo now (small square bag with couple of draw string straps).

Sounded like a successful trip for you VolGrad. Yeah, we ran into a few old friends. You were just too stealthy :)
