Southern Grind Spider Monkey

Damn. Any ETA for purchase?

Since they were selling them out of the booth I expect any minute. Just a guess though. I actually asked when they would be available and the guy said, "Now", so I jumped on one right there. Whatever he said after that was a blur.

There is a typo in the card - steel should be S35VN mostly, never heard of S35N!

That's funny. I hadn't caught that. It's correct on the left, but wrong under the knife pic. I wonder if they have caught that yet.

Here are some pics of the Spider Monkey. Added a couple next to a Skyline and the big brother.

Thanks for posting the information and comparison pics shandrydan1 and VolGrad. I have a quick question. Do you find the finger choil cuts down too much on the amount a real estate for your grip? Can you get a four finger grip or is it more like 3 1/2? I wear L/XL gloves, so I have moderately large hands I guess. I have always liked the Bad Monkey but never purchased it because I knew it was too large for my taste. The Spider Monkey has got me very intrigued.

Here is an in-hand shot. I usually wear large size gloves and I am able to get a full 4 finger grip on it. To me the Bad Monkey is super ergonomic and when I saw they just shrank the full design I was very pleased to have the Spider Monkey retain the same great ergos.

The tip of the scales dont stick out quite as far as they do in the pic, but even in a super relaxed grip my pinky finger rests on the bottom most scale screw. I've used it a pretty good bit today breaking down boxes and it is super comfortable.

Great, thank you for the in-hand picture! Looks like a good knife for me, I'll probably order one when they become available on their site.

I am really wanting one of these. I have a bad monkey and it is my favorite folder. I would love a smaller one. Wave or no wave I dont care. Did they guve an ETA on release date?

I had never been interested in one of their line, until now. Where can I throw my money for one of these?

I didn't hear them say when they were going to be available for online orders but I would think it would be soon. Whitty is a dealer for them and he might have an idea.

I emailed Whitty at usa made blade and he said about 3 weeks from what they told him at blade.

(Sorry Whitty if I wasn't supposed to share)

I emailed Southern Grind and Karly told me they would be available on their site in a couple of weeks. Only drop point and tanto, with plain edge and serrated edge with carbon fiber handles will be available initially. She did not mention if the blades would be coated or uncoated, or both....
