Spring 2016 Becker East Gathering - sign-up closed

Well, drat!
If you're not showing, I'm not accepting any more people!
:D

That's enough bodies to fill half moon ridge.
keep chatting in the thread, especially if something comes up that you can't attend, but at this point we need to cap this so we can start planning activities and food. (it would be a CRIME if we ran out of bacon or tortillas & cheese, after all!)

I'm planning on bringing some Stonies bacon. Anything else from St. Louis area ya'll want? Fake cheese (provel) or Schlafly beer?

Alright! Looks like a great turnout! It'd be cool to have name tags or something so we can figure out who's who with their BF name. Of course, some folks prefer to be incognito and such...

Erik I will be bringing Alayna with me this year, but I can cover her food and we can both sleep in the truck no problem.

No worries - I doubt she eats that much, and if she does, I can afford to forego a few calories here and there.

If'in I remember correctly, we usually aren't hurting too bad for food on the mountain. I'm willing to make a couple runs into town for food if we need it too.

Funny you ask...I almost learned "Big City Turn Me Loose and Set Me Free" on my uke this weekend. Other than 3 chords, that's about all I got. I'll be bringing it but it'd be cool if someone who can actually play had one as well...

As a first time gathering attendee... what should I be expecting re: food preparations?

One has seen the words tortillas, cheese, bacon, and beer bandied about. What should one bring for the community food pile, and what meals should one expect to be responsible for oneself?

All of those would be good, as a first time attendee its pretty much your responsibility to feed and drink everyone, as well as wait on us hand and foot. So, much, beer, much food, ammo, whiskey, gas money home for everybody and dont forget to get there a little early to set up all of our camps! But don't wear yourself out because you will have to break them all down on Sunday!

Seriously though, I've been to this gathering more times than I can count. My best advice to you is bring what you want. You will walk into this place seeing strangers and leave with brothers. So, the best thing I can say is bring stuff you want to share. Things you like, as far as food, beer, spirits, it seems the more obscure the better, everyone likes something new. But also remember everyone thats coming, especially the ones that have been there have this same mentality. I gave up on bringing food years ago because there will be so many people there willing to fill your gullet with delectable treats all weekend. I try to contribute by helping people with there projects in Ethans shop, I plan on bringing belts and materials for that. Everyone has something that can contribute. But its a no stress place, just bring something that you think like-minded people will enjoy, and that is more than good enough, seriously! ;-)
