Spring into Spring with a "Barlow a Day for Thirty Days"

Day 13

In an attempt to reclaim my mojo, I've gone back to the drawing board - or, er, cutting mat, as it were.

I think this run of #25 EO Beerlows happened right around the time I realized that GEC had a list of dealers on their site. I must've felt like I'd been let into the war room and was seeing the big board! 🤣

I wound up with four in total: Barglow Acrylic, Coral Micarta, Osage Orange, and today's carry, Red Sawcut Bone. I think, certainly one of the highlights of the run.

The Osage Orange and Coral Micarta do most of the heavy lifting (read: opening the occasional Jarrito's). The Barglow Acrylic and this one get used and carried, in slips, and so far only for minor tasks - cutting errant strings, opening mail, and compulsively fiddling with for the most part.

I've also got my Remington Granddaddy Barlow on me (not shown), y'know, for anything that might require a blade longer than one and a quarter inches. The sawcut texture on the two match very well.

Edit - Note: While I am a proud, sticker-possessing (we don't have cards...) member (#174) of the Barlow Bearcat Club, and while this configuration was used as the club's 2023 Club Knife - this isn't one of those, as I was not a member at the time of release. So, there you go.

If my memory serves me correct, you might have a rabbit hunting scene from that same series ...... somebody here does. 🤔🤔🤔😊

Thank you very much Mr. Primble.👍
You have a good memory, yes I have a barlow with a rabbit hunting scene, but it's from Boker.;)

Day 11

I keep forgetting about the Shuffler and Roundhead when doing Barlows, they sit in a drawer with other more modern designs. Anywhos, added the two to my stack for the month. Nothing much planned for today, so doubtful the Shuffler sees any use.

How many tries did it take to snap a good picture right at the stroke of the minute?

One. I normally just snap whatever random time, but I saw how the hands were lining up and set up for it. Biggest issue was eliminating light bloom on the watch crystal, took multiple shots to get that set just right, then the one shot. Alternate shot would have been later today (something like 14:20:15, or just some random time).

Primble Primble Thanks for passing my May Pruner :) I have another oddity for Day14, it may not pass the test, let's hope;)

Like the tale about saving the Racoon cubs, orphaned animals must deserve a chance. Was heartbroken a couple of years back a young Tabby cat had recently been run over on the road, just 200 metres further along on a dirt-track 3 small kittens were waiting anxiously for their mum, fear it was her. I couldn't stop as the road was busy, the dirt track led to a farm so I just hoped somebody could take care of those anxious mites.

Some nice unadorned watches you & others have been showing (there's a potential collector's money pit..:D ) I've gone over to automatic watches these past couple of years, nothing fancy and they won't obviously be as accurate as a quartz but so what, who needs pin-point accuracy, most time is wasted anyway! What I got fed up with is the cost of replacement batteries, 25€ (27 USD) a go in the shopping mall o_O I DIY some of them but some I just can't get the back off or on again...auto it is .

Thanks, Will
